Hello,

When the active server goes down the passive one becomes active.

What is happening when the ex-active server goes up? Does it get the passive role and starts to monitor the active server? When the new active server (ex-passive) goes down, will the passive server become active again?

Unless something has been added in the latest release the behaviour should still be Active Passive only. This guide should give you more information: https://www.3cx.com/docs/failover/

You didn't answer my question.

I did answer it in a round-about way. If the device(s) are in active-passive mode then this means that it will not fail-back over and in my understanding should not be monitoring.

It would be good to get a response from 3CX staff however as I did set this up (with successful failover) a few revisions back so the situation may now of changed.

Hello @unkhum

Failover currently works only one way. If the active server goes down, the passive will take over. Once you are ready to bring the primary server up you will need to manually bring the passive server down.
