Hello all,

ive setup the Fax extension in my 3cx server

im just running demo license, in the future i want to buy it IF the fax extension is working

i have 2 numbers 1 number for calling and 1 for fax

now i have add voip provider for the fax number
created a did to the fax extension (it says send fax to 888 administrator)
and ofcourse i have fax extension

but when i call the number of the fax no beep or nothing.. the phone hangs up within 1 second

what can i do? please help

I got the same problem!

I'm able to fax to other fax machines external, and i can receive fax, but i can't forward to Email?

How to solve?

these are 2 different issues.

menno22, does your carrier support T.38 Faxing? That is the only way that the faxing will work. also can you verify with a log trace that the call is coming in and hitting the fax server extension. sometimes DID's are the same provider are hard to configure correctly,

Niklas, does the 3cx send out other emails fine? ie voicemail to email and welcom letters.

beautiful selection of the log messages :)
Could you please provide information about Fax.2001?

Thanks

DO'H sure off course i can!

Setup for FAX 2001:

Samsung CLX 3175N - connected to Linksys PAP2 - connected to switch.

I'm able to fax to other fax machines inside the LAN, and to other fax machines outside ( not local numbers ) and they can also reply. But when i try to fax to email, fax number 2222, it fail. Codec is G711, Echo cancellation OFF, Network Jitter Level High.

I hope you are able to help me out of here.

/Niklas

Hi Niklas,

Thanks for the update.

This quote explains situation:
The 3CX Fax Receiving Server is based on the T.38 standard, and requires a compatible T.38 VoIP Gateway or VoIP Provider. The 3CX Fax Receiving Server does not support G.711 for fax. Supported devices for use with the 3CX Fax Receiving Server are listed on the 3CX Wiki. You must check this list to identify an appropriate device.

Sorry, but it will not work with Linksys PAP2

Hi SY

Thanks for your advice!

I created a new phone number xxxxxxxx at my VoIP provider "Viptel.dk"

setup rule: send fax to: email of extension 2222 ( 3CX fax server )

but i got this error in the LOG file: The description for Event ID '1073741824' in Source '3CXFAXSrv' cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display the message, or you may not have permission to access them. The following information is part of the event:'Service procedure completed with code 0'

What is wrong?

MY problem explained better

ive buyed new phone number only for receiving fax.
i used a other program before and without problems

i just add voip provider in 3cx and then i make a did and choose option *send fax to email of extension 100

then i press OK

so now normaly with the other program when i call the number i hear the fax beeep beeep beeeeep
and in 3cx i hear nothing and afther 3 seconds phone hangs up.

so what do i do wrong?

p.s in the log i see the same error as above post
in activity log i see
22:19:25.953 [CM505003]: Provider:[dsp] Device info: Device Not Identified: User Agent not matched; Capabilities:[reinvite, replaces, able-no-sdp, recvonly] UserAgent: [GW01.budgetphone.nl] PBX contact: [sip:[email protected]:61311]
