3CX Grandstream Hxxx Template

3CX,
Can the Grandstream template be updated to not set the device to DHCP? We prefer our ATAs to be static, but the template keeps setting them back to DHCP.

(Yes, I know we can use a DHCP reservation, but what about locations that don't run DHCP?)

I'm ok with custom templates on a phone.
How can I modify them for a FXS device?

So I had assumed (incorrectly) you could just make a custom template like you can for the phones. While you may be able to do it the old fashioned way (dropping the XML into the folder path) given your requirement I think the easiest thing to do is just provision it like normal then remove the provisioning path from the webui (and set your static IP). Then anytime you need to re-provision you can just put the provisioning path back in via the web UI.

I mean, I've done this before (when Grandstream wasn't supported by 3CX), but to the end user....

I'll likely start grepping the system looking for it later. Unless it's hardcoded in somewhere.

Since we provision by providing you an XML file from the MC, you can also edit the XML before uploading it to switch to Static IP and populate the IP fields with the required address. Then just remove the link to prevent future reprovisioning back to DHCP. You will then have to maintain the ATA manually if anything changes in the future as it will no longer receive provisioning updates from the PBX.
