Multi tiered questions!

We have a customer that has a 3CX server that is still on an old version (12 or 12.5). We did not upgrade them them because they actually have an iPod feeding an audio line in for their hold music. This feature was removed in some versions of 3CX and this was important to them. Our office has v15. Looking at the hold music I see an option for line ins. Does this mean we could make this work on newer versions?

Also in relation to the above, I was actually trying to get this to work and I could never get the hold music to actually change. I thought it was related to the line in so I changed it to some other music and it just never changes. I even went into a queue and tried changing it and then called the queue and still just get onhold.wav. It seems like no matter what I do, it never applies the hold music changes. Any thoughts?

Is there any way to run the converter on specific files offline? Say, if I want to convert a group of files on my PC and then upload to 3CX?
I believe the "3CXConvertPrompts.exe" accepts 1 optional argument, which is the path to look in for .wav files (only .wav).

So what you could do is:
  1. Download the converted from here.
  2. Extract it
  3. Open a CMD and cd into the directory you extracted it to (don't run it from another directory).
  4. Type: 3CXConvertPrompts.exe "<Directory where the file you want to convert are>"

Try it, it may work ;)

Thank you! I actually tried that yesterday and couldn't get it to work. I think it was the source files, so I just used a different program to convert. I appreciate the assistance though!

I created a simple drag and drop tool.
Will convert just about any audio file format to a 3CX compatible WAV format.

♦ Supports Drag n Drop conversion.

♦ Supports Batch Drag n Drop (select multiple files and drop)

Instructions:

1) Download file: Convert Audio to 3CX-WAV.exe (15.5 MB)

Link (zip): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Z_BVhlBc4UuNlQGXP16u_cU0HOicndrX
Link (exe): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1LJOg_euKVZTzDqWWM72DdfY-AafA12JR

2) Create shortcut to the converter on Windows Desktop
(right-click on Convert Audio to 3CX-WAV.exe -> Send to Desktop)

3) Drag and Drop audio file on top of Desktop shortcut

Audio is converted using ffmpeg to 3CX format and placed in directory the audio files were originally dragged from.

Demo:

Code:
FOR %%A IN (%*) DO (
"%~dp0\ffmpeg.exe" -i "%%~A" -acodec pcm_s16le -ar 8000 -ac 1 "%%~dpnA_Converted.wav"
)

Does the music in the playlist section have the same file format requirements, such as .WAV and PCM, 8 kHz, 16 but, Mono? Will the 3CX provided automatic converter convert these or is it best to do conversions prior to uploads? Is there any good documentation on this that I can just dig into?

Few days ago I did try to download wav files from internet so I could use them in 3cx and was not able to upload any of the wav files somehow to 3cx, wonder why, they had wav extension. :(

It's not just being a .wav file. If you would read you would see it must be format in a specific way.

Where I could find those specs for wav files? Was looking but cand find it somehow to make it work for me.

Many thanks for all the help as always, you are so awesome ;)
