This is in my 2005 Ford Expedition 4x4 Monster(331 Stroker V8
), that is not Apple Carplay or Android Auto you are seeing, but an actual Android Head Unit, Specifically the Kuratu Double Din with 4 GB RAM, 32GB SSD(From Amazon), and works amazingly well. I have the same unit in the Mustang GT and would never go back to without them.
Provisioned fine, and the call quality was the same as you would expect from a high end android phone.

This is the Radio you see, i have 2 of them, Im a fan of symmetry in my electronics, so i put one in the mustang, and loved it so well i did the truck next with the same unit.

If you want the USB ports on the dash, you also need to grab one of these, it plugs into the back of the head unit directly and then you just pop a hole wherever you want them, so you can plug in flash drives, or whatever usb accessories to use on the head unit:
