3CX on PCENGINES APU2

Seems to be possible to install 3CX on a PCENGINES APU2 via serial console. The CPU is a AMD GX-412TC very similar to a INTEL Z8350 CPU in performance with 2 or 4 gigs of ram and at least 2 Intel Gigabit ethernet.

There is anyone that tried 3CX with this embedded board and can share the opinion?

There is a way to load test a 3CX server without deploying them into the "wild"?

You'll probably need to do your own homework on this one but it sounds like it is similar to the intel nuc.

4-8 sim calls seems like a safe bet for this cpu, maybe 16.

I did not notice this page for nuc appliances, thanks for the input.

I will report back if i success in a trial run

Please do. Always nice to have options. I imagine it should be fine and with v16 being further optimized it will probably run even better then.

As far as the installation goes the 3CX ready ISO doesnt work. I mean... debian installs fine but the pbx does not.

What do you need:

• Debian netinst for amd64
• A tool to write the iso on a usb key (for Windows i suggest balenaEtcher)
• A serial adapter

Open the serial connection (i suggest Putty on Windows) with speed 115200.
Plug the usb key with debian installer and power up.
Press F10 when prompted and boot from the usb key.
Select Graphical install and press Tab to edit the boot options.
Add:

console=ttyS0,115200n8

at the end and press ENTER to boot.
Install Debian as you normally would but bear in mind that the graphical interface is not needed as the device has no video output so when you select witch software to install deselect the desktop experience and select SSH Server.

At the first reboot install 3CX in the old fashion as instructed here: 3CX Manual

Needs testing but its promising even with 2gb of ram. On first boot with 3CX only roughly 500mb were occupied in ram.
