Hello, all,

I have a 3CX PBX installed with 18.0 Update 9 (Build 35) Version, which is integrated with Vtiger CRM - 7.3.0. Currently, for 3CX PBX, it is recommended to upgrade to v20. After a research I found info that the integration between 3CX PBX and Vtiger (both with mentioned above versions) is not compatible and there are issues.

Has anyone tried such an upgrade, and had any problems integrating with Vtiger? Any ideas and opinions will be appreciated.

Are you using the Vtiger community edition on-premise? 3CX is only compatible with Vtiger in the cloud. It uses a REST API which is not available in the community edition. But this has been like this in v18 as well, the change was done long time ago.

Hello, edossantos_sipcaller,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, Vtiger is community edition on-premise, but I haven't encountered any problems so far.

Then you have an old version of the template. You will need to do the following:
1) Go to your 3CX Console > Settings > Integrations (I don't remember the exact location in v18), click "Show Template" to get the working XML and copy it locally, for example to a file named "Vtiger_Custom.xml".

2) You will need to make a few adjustments to make it work with v20. I don't remember exactly what, most probably generating the outputs EntityID and EntityType, but maybe something else. You can compare your template with the v20 template and see what changes, to understand what else must be adjusted.

If you're not sure about point 2, you should hire someone to do this for you. I highly recommend @ConceptsWeb for this.

Hello again, edossantos_sipcaller,

Thanks for the advice.
I manage to find/download the current template (for version 18) , but can not find such for v20. Can you direct me where to download it?

The v20 template is only available on v20 systems.

Hello, all,

I manage to compare the two templates and аs I saw, there are many differences between both, and therefore a lot of work, so now the floor is mine...
@edossantos_sipcaller thanks for the link.

Actually, most of the changes are probably XML reformatting, because when you Show the Template from the 3CX console, it will show all the properties of the XML elements, even the ones having a default value. Those properties with default values might not be present in the v20 XML. If you pay attention to the details, you will see that there are not big changes.

The most important change is authentication with the get_challenge method in the community edition of Vtiger. I think the easiest way to go with this is adding the authentication part from v18 to v20, the rest should work almost without changes from what I remember.

Hello, all,

I need to make a dry-run test for the compatibility between 3cxpbx v20 and Vtiger CRM - 7.3.0. So, is there a way to install isolated (with no access to the internet) 3xcpbx v20 just for tests - without licenses and registration, in order to test the compatibility with Vtiger CRM - 7.3.0?

No. You have to use your own instance or spin up a trial.

Also, Internet access is a requirement for any 3CX instance.

Hello, all,

I made an attempt to upgrade the current (integrated with Vtiger 7.3.0) 3CX PBX from v18 to v20, but it failed. So, I am wondering, is it possible to install a new VM with 3CX PBX v20, and after that to apply backup on it from the current PBX (v18)?

Any ideas will be appreciated.
