3CX SBC on Raspberry Pi 4 2GB RAM 16GB storage

Hi,

I was wondering if it's possible to run 3CX SBC on a Raspberry Pi 4 with 'only' 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage. Most guides mention 4GB RAM and 32GB storage but previous RPi 3B+ had only 1GB of RAM.

Please advice as the RPi 4 B4 are very rare at the moment due wordwide chip shortage.

It's possible to watch Netflix over a dial-up modem. But that would certainly be a terrible experience.

3CX (like any other provider) gives recommended configurations to provide the best experience. Doing something that isn't recommended doesn't mean it won't work, it simply means that if you run into an issue and you reach out to 3CX for support and they find out you aren't running a supported configuration they won't provide support. But since you don't mention anything important like number of extensions or any other variables of importance it's hard to say. If you are concerned, you can get any number of small appliances or even a refurbished business computer for $200-300 that will meet the recommendations.

I think we need to support 7 or 8 local Yealink phones. 2 GB RAM is my main concern, storage can be easily expanded.

It seems you are running Debian 11 Bullseye. You'll need to be running Debian 10 Buster so I'd recommend reflashing the SD using the image found in our guide: https://www.3cx.com/docs/installing-pbx-raspberry-pi/

Then follow the guide to complete the 3CX SBC installation and you should be good to go.

Note: Do bear in mind that the 3CX SBC is designed to be used in conjunction with 3CX Supported IP Phones and FXS Gateways. Just mentioning this as it sounds like you're planning to connect the Goip GSM Gateway with it.

As mentioned previously, I'm afraid it's not a 3CX Supported device. Maybe another community member has experience with it and can chip in.
