Especially with the emphasis on hosted installations, I forsee many SBC's being deployed, either hardware (Pi) or software on Windows clients. Rather than depend on the "Lost registration" notification per extension, Is it possible to treat the SBC similar to a trunk as for as visibility and notifications go? i.e. a new line item under the System Status or maybe show up in the Bridge section. The big difficulty in my mind is if 3CX tracks the SBCs differently from a 3CXPhone tunnel.

As it sits right now the only method of monitoring is status notification by extension, and that has the potential to generate mass amounts of email traffic.

Thoughts?

I had read the thread very fast and had not time to read all long comments in depth but just in case nobody mentioned it please don't forget to list SBCs public IP somewhere. On phones list those connected through SBC shows only the local IP of the SBC.

Lets me see all of my SBC devices, and I can connect to them remotely.... to stay on track with the OP.
@myuniquename As a Screenconnect/Connectwise Control user, I can do the same thing w/o a separate paid product license per device, but that's not the point. It's the integration of the ecosystem that 3CX created when they chose to endorse the SBC for remote extensions and the cloud-first approach.

I've read the release notes for V16. Other than the continued depreciation of the Windows client, I like where the rest is going! But I still have hope that 3CX will provide a solution to one of the highest voted and oldest actively requested features in the ideas forum.

I currently use IT Brain by teamviewer to monitor client SBC's but it only works on windows based SBC installs. Native SBC's status functionalilty would allow me to use raspi sbc's, that would be much cheaper and more reliable than windows sbc. Only reason I use windows sbc's is due to the fact that I can use IT Brain to monitor their status.

Would love to see this. Comes up often enough :)

+1

Just getting started and this SBC thing is kicking my butt. It is connected or not? I shouldn't have to SSH into the SBC and tail the 3cxsbc.log file to see what's going on.

Heck, even a simple change as making the SBC use the 3CX as its syslog server would probably help.

Spent another couple of hours diagnosing a client with a Rasp Pi SBC that just stopped working - would be so much easier with this GUI status request.

2nd request from me or a progress update please - 1st request for this was Message 35 dated 27th Jun 2017.....

from the SBC point of view, in my case, a "netstat" is often sufficient for seeing if the remote tunnel
is up or not. But we cannot always access the SBC on the cliënt side. So just a Trunk/Extension like button would do, something like:

SBC's configured/up 2/2

You can give your SBC a location ID which comes forward in the 3CX dashboard so you can easily see which SBC's are up and which are down.

New SBC is undergoing extensive internal testing. Please, be patient - you will see, it was worth it.
Thank you.

Thanks for the update @ivank! We are being patient, but details go a long way towards extending that patience. Can you at least tell us if the integration with the Console is coming?

Yes, SBC will be integrated into the Console. All the changes are centered about this idea.

Hoping this makes it into one of the early releases of v16

@accentlogic Agreed. We've been waiting on this one for a while.

Yes I would love to see this, preferable with reverse SSH port forward so you can access the SBC terminal from the PBX.

Anymore details on this? Release date?

As a developer myself, i keep an eye on things under the hood, and 3CX 16.0.1.x seems to have new database sections for use to monitor the SBCs now, so its definitely coming, the server side already has some of its parts now.

Also, it works with any 3cx server 15.5 or higher, Windows or Linux...
