Hi all,

I'm facing this issue after a Debian update:

VMPBX:~$ systemctl start 3CXPhoneSystemMC01
Failed to start 3CXPhoneSystemMC01.service: The name org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1 was not provided by any .service files
See system logs and 'systemctl status 3CXPhoneSystemMC01.service' for details.

Has someone had this issue before?
The system is v16, reboot won't work.

Thanks in advance

I did a "sudo apt install policykit-1" and now I get this error message:

polkit-agent-helper-1: pam_authenticate failed: Authentication failure
==== AUTHENTICATION FAILED ===
Failed to start 3CXPhoneSystemMC01.service: Access denied

Still not working.

Hi surely update went wrong, if you have a good backup , reinstall from scratch and restore surely best and fastest way to retrieve a working pbx

It sounds like the OP put a GUI or has other bits installed on his 3CX box which is unsupported. Best to do what @aws2p said but install a clean Debian environment when you restore your backup.

Blow away the OS, re-install from the 3CX iso (for Debian, I'm not sure why anyone would want to use anything else other than the 3CX iso!) and restore from backup.

Don't install extra stuff on that box / VM and don't try and keep the OS up-to-date other than when prompted by 3CX.

All the options I tried didn't helped. I had to do a full fresh install on the box. I'm lucky we had the backups available.

3CX just didn't liked the update of the OS.

Thanks for your inputs.
