Hi

I'm just setting up my first client 3CX system, and they asked for a feature which I'm not sure can be done.

Basically they want to be able to press a button (like DND) when the reception girls go to lunch which will play an "Unavailable" message for all incoming calls. However when I look at the Inbound Rules, you only have two options either play this (IVR Greeting) within Office hours, or play this (Officeclosed ext voicemail) out of Office hours.

It would be neat if 3CX added a third option like "play this (message) if DND is pressed on any deskphone.
How does anyone work around this, I'm sure 99% of small businesses have this, but I can't find any documentation (unless its so easy to do that no-one bothers to explain it)

Hi,
You are able to put a dummy extension in front of your inbound rules. And set the auto switch for your original schedule.
Available during the day
DND during the night
Away if you set a break mode automatically
And you have 2 other status to do what ever you like.
After just give the receptionist right to users who want to manage the status of you dummy extension
We are using this every day

Thanks! that makes a lot of sense
Just one question though, can the dummy extension DND be enabled or disabled from any deskphone (like a remote command)

Yes and if you want to setup a phone somewhere else. Up to you

Cool, so what's the remote command to enable DND?

Go to your webclient, in the contact list, select the user, click on the menu ( 3 little dot) and set status...
You must have receptionist right on this extension group

You can alternatively set the whole system to out of office using the dial codes which can be set as a speed dial on a user's phone.

Be careful though, it will stay in out of office mode forever until you manually set it back to normal hours

Thanks for your help Mercuris and John, you have been a great help.
I ended up setting the dummy extension at the front of the inbound rules as Mercuris suggested and set up the different modes which can be changed through the web interface. This has worked Great!!
