I got the email about the FCM change. Being almost completely new to 3CX, I think I will be OK if I do nothing but I have no idea how to prove or verify that. In the email I see:

Go to your 3CX Management Console Dashboard
Check the PUSH config status in the Information section
Choose 1 of the options below:
-Option 1: 3CX Account: No further action required
-Option 2: Own Account: Follow these instructions:
--Click to open the settings page
--Remove “Server Key” and “Sender ID”
--Save with OK.

If Option 1 applies, is that the verification/proof I need to say this we do not need to do anything even if we do not have 16 Update 8? Or does it mean I still have to update to 16 Update 8?

If I am reading correctly, I am on version 16.0.5.619 with the option to update to 16.0.5.622. I don't see any option to see or get update 8 which I'm assuming would mean 16.0.8xxx? It appears that 3CX is set to automatically install updates so I'm assuming that is not actually happening since I'm only on 16.0.5 instead of 16.0.8. Is that a correct assumption?

As for the FCM and the Android config, is there any way for me to know if or how many people might be using the Android mobile app?

They are step upgrades, so yes, 5 to 6, 6 to 7 and then 7 to 8. So if automatic updates are not working, then you can try manual updates. But again, without know more information about your setup, we can only guess.

That's the fun part - I'm new to 3CX so I'm learning as I go here. It's running on Linux server (not sure if that helps or not). We're an MSP and this a new client, we took over 3CX from their previous MSP who was also a 3CX partner.

What's driving me nuts is that I can't get a simple clear answer to how to know if this is something I need to do or if our setup is OK as is RE https://www.3cx.com/blog/news/disable-customer-android-push/. Push says 3CX Account but I don't know if that means I still be on Update 8 or not....

I don't know how much clearer the blog entry could be....

If that system is not auto-updating, then I would recommend taking backup, copying it off the box, doing a fresh install from the ISO and restoring.

Does that mean I should expect updating from Update 5 to Update 8 to fail and I'm working on it? Again, completely new to 3CX.

As for clarity, no I don't actually think it's that clear. They say update but then they say if you meet Option 1 you're set - this is what I mean - it is not clear if you need Option 1 AND / OR Version 16 Update 8.

Seems to be very clear to me:

I'm not seeing what you are seeing. There's three scenarios:

- If you are on Update 8, you're all set.
- If you are not on Update 8, get on Update 8 by 3/5/2021 which will automatically update the settings
- If you can't get on Update 8 by 3/5/2021 then you need to disable the custom FCM per the instructions.
