Solved 3cx upgrade from 16v to 18v

Good Morning,

I am planning to upgrade 3cx from version 16 to 18.

Please let me know things I need to keep in mind before I do the upgrade and when I am performing the upgrade.

Self-hosted 3xc PBX on windows.

We are 24/7 monitoring company, so we would like minimum downtime.


We are so receiving the below error, will this resolve once we upgrade to18v ?

make sure your windows os is supported for v18 https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/phone-system-installation-windows/

steps

1. Backup existing 3cx with fqdn and liicense - move this backup to a folder outside of the 3cx folders.
2. Uninstall 3cx
3. Reboot machine
4. Install v18, selecting restore from backup - select backup from step 1

yes , licensing issue with be resolved

Also make sure if antivirus software is installed, exclude the following folders feom scanning

• C:\Program Files\3CX Phone System\*
• C:\ProgramData\3CX\*
