3CX v16 Reaches Beta 1

Hi team,
I have try "Click2Talk" .

It's a valued feature but is only english.

Do you intend to translate the automatic system messages based on the language of the extension's voicemail ?

example :
-> Hello! How can I help you?
--> Your session is over. Please feel free to contact us again!

Otherwise, it is unlikely that we will take advantage of this great function. :-(
I am not a law specialist .. but I believe that
in the province of Quebec,
the Charter of the French Language states
"5. Consumers of goods and services have a right to be informed and served in French. 1977, c. 5, s. 5."

thx

Hello @bravad
Localization will be added in the upcoming release of Click-to-Talk WordPress plugin, that is planned to be released during the next days. On that release, we will translate messages based on returned browser local.
The translations will be for the following languages (fr,de,es,it).

Also some of those prompts (Hello! How can I help you) are available to be set through the WordPress configuration properties.

You've mentioned a very interesting scenario @bravad with the language of the voicemail extension. Can you please elaborate on this a bit more?

Thank you.

Actually, an option to manually force a language is NEEDED. For multilingual websites, we can create multiple Click2Talk items for different queues (one per language for example).

Well, before I updated to v16, my config was using the RFC Hold (don't remember the number) so when you put a local extension on hold, their phone displays it. Now, this option is disabled for whatever reason. I reactived it and it still works so I don't understand why it was disabled.

Can you please tell me which option you reactivated, otherwise I would not be able to help you?

Clearly, the template have changed because there is a section for SRTP setting and the version number is higher.

Of course, the template version number is changed. It's changing with every build and contains the build number.;)
As I informed you previously "all "HOLD" related parameters are not changed" and not "whole template is not updated". Of course we are always improving the provisioning templates and adding new provisioning features there, but again I can't find any " "HOLD" related parameter changes" in the Grandstream provisioning template.;)
About SRTP section.
The SRTP section is there since the version 15.5 of 3CX Phone System and, as you can see, it's commented out, so you can't see it in 3CX Management Console and can't use it to provision the Grandstream phones.

Also, more settings on templates would be nice. OR, at least a way to add custom parameters (P-codes in GS case) without using a custom template, which is not supported.
I suggest you to open this in 3CX Ideas.

We are working on this.

Nice stuff in the pipe!

Two things really needed in V16 (or sooner):

  1. Skip extensions starting with 0,00,000, etc. (see thread Here)
  2. Archive and/or purge old reports.

Archive and/or purge old reports.
If you are talking about call reports, archiving can be done by generating the reports you want and storing them.
Purging is already available, but must be done manually.

It's also in V15.5. In the Management Console --> Call Reports --> Settings, under Clear Call Logs you can select a custom date range.

Again, I am speaking of the RFC0000 Hold. Can't remember the number.

It's the parameter that permits a callee to know he's on HOLD. Search the template you will find it. It was at 1 before, now it is 0.

Don't tell me you can't find it, I find it pretty easily searching "hold" in the template.

Do you have an ETA on SIPS/SRTP? I know v16 is supposed to auto-provision Secure SIP.

I suggest you to open this in 3CX Ideas.
I did a while ago. But not enough people uses Grandstream with 3CX (because only few models are supported and templates are PITA). So I can't get enough votes.

However, I can't believe we still CANNOT add custom parameters in config. 3CX should provide a base template with working SIP/network parameters and let us take care of the UI and preferences.

My weather can't be changed because you want everyone to use the supported template, which gives me "Los Angeles" when I am in "Montreal".

It's also in V15.5. In the Management Console --> Call Reports --> Settings, under Clear Call Logs you can select a custom date range.

That clears call LOGS. I am referring to purging or archiving the PDF/CSV files that are created when a report is created. They sit there forever unless manually deleted. Busy systems with lots of reports can easily wind up with tens of thousands of files taking up space.

Thanks for clarifying. This is something we are considering for later.

For now, all generated reports are stored here:
(Windows) C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Reports\
(Linux) /var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Http/Reports/

When the generated files are deleted from here, they also disappear in the Management Console.

Tried loading 3cx on Pi yesterday. Install was fairly smooth until the end where the database was having issues with my locale. Figured I did something wrong like change locale and didn't reboot before installing 3cx. So, going to try again today.
Sorry I didn't save the error log.

Yes - we have a script that runs periodically to relocate those files to archive storage.

I do hope the ability / option to NOT auto-assign new extensions with leading zeroes is coming soon.

Large deployments with 1000+ extensions are difficult to manage when having to manually search for the next available extension #. I've never seen a PBX that enables leading zeroes in the extension number scheme, and, callers would likely be confused by it.

@Nick Mancini Could you tell me why you don't import user lists from csv on such large systems? Or LDAP sync?

Not all AD users are assigned an extension. PBX operates disconnected from AD anyway. Issue when adding a new extension is that it will start with 00, 000, 0000 (depending on extension length). adding a new extension at the tail end of the users list is OK, but does not easily allow us to find available extension numbers. This used to work great until 3CX sarted using extension numbers with leading zeroes. It's a simple addition to exclude them, as well as skipping 911, 933, 611, 411, etc. It would certainly be quite helpful! :)

Hi Frederick,

As I already informed you, the parameters that are provisioning the phone functionality during the hold (they are 5) have never been changed since the "grandstream.ph.xml" provisioning template was added into the build.
If you can "find it pretty easily searching "hold" in the template", why you are not telling me the exact name of that parameter?
However, using your last description, I think, I found the parameter that you mentioned in your post. Is it the RFC2543 Hold parameter (P26062 value)? If so, here is it in V15.5 SP6 and V16 beta1:
9605
As you can see they are the same and set to 0.

Even more, I'm the person who is responsible to add, modify, update and delete the phone provisioning templates from the 3CX Phone System and I can tell you with 100% sure that the "hold functionality parameters" have never been changed in the "grandstream.ph.xml" provisioning template.
Why these parameters have existed values? It's a question to the Grandstream. The phone manufacturer decided to use these values, not 3CX.
I think, you manually modified that parameter in V15.5 template and used that customized template to provision your phones. Again, 3CX never had the P26062 value set to 1.

The Secure SIP and SRTP provisioning are still under the construction and we have no ETA for these features yet.

About the number of votes and custom templates.
According to the number of the questions and requests that we are receiving about the Grandstream phones, we have enough users to vote for the ideas about the Grandstream phones ;)
Who told you that you "CANNOT add custom parameters in config"? Why you are not using the custom templates functionality? Yes, they would be marked as unsupported (because we can't trust to the modifications that customers will do), but if these custom values are so important for you, I think, you can ignore the red markers in 3CX Management Console :)

About the weather.
The weather on Grandstream phones updates according to your location and we have no idea why you see "Los Angeles" when you are in "Montreal". I think, you need to forward this question to your Internet Service Provider or directly to Grandstream. 3CX is not changing the default behavior of the phone here.

Hi Craig, please try again and let us know. Note that on Linux in general, it is recommended to uninstall the PBX and Postgres and purge before changing the locale. Then you can reinstall once the locale has been set and it should work fine.

The beta is looking great. I have a question though about Zoho integration. I can lookup numbers OK and the journal works with existing contacts. However, when I call in from an unknown number, Zoho is not creating a new contact, but I have that setting enabled. Any idea on what I should look for?
