3CX v16 Reaches Beta 1

The beta is looking great. I have a question though about Zoho integration. I can lookup numbers OK and the journal works with existing contacts. However, when I call in from an unknown number, Zoho is not creating a new contact, but I have that setting enabled. Any idea on what I should look for?

Hello @datamerge ,

I will get in contact with your in a private message, in order to investigate further the reported case.

Thank you.

Hi Frederick,

As I already informed you, the parameters that are provisioning the phone functionality during the hold (they are 5) have never been changed since the "grandstream.ph.xml" provisioning template was added into the build.
If you can "find it pretty easily searching "hold" in the template", why you are not telling me the exact name of that parameter?
However, using your last description, I think, I found the parameter that you mentioned in your post. Is it the RFC2543 Hold parameter (P26062 value)? If so, here is it in V15.5 SP6 and V16 beta1:
View attachment 9605
As you can see they are the same and set to 0.

Even more, I'm the person who is responsible to add, modify, update and delete the phone provisioning templates from the 3CX Phone System and I can tell you with 100% sure that the "hold functionality parameters" have never been changed in the "grandstream.ph.xml" provisioning template.
Why these parameters have existed values? It's a question to the Grandstream. The phone manufacturer decided to use these values, not 3CX.
I think, you manually modified that parameter in V15.5 template and used that customized template to provision your phones. Again, 3CX never had the P26062 value set to 1.

The Secure SIP and SRTP provisioning are still under the construction and we have no ETA for these features yet.

About the number of votes and custom templates.
According to the number of the questions and requests that we are receiving about the Grandstream phones, we have enough users to vote for the ideas about the Grandstream phones ;)
Who told you that you "CANNOT add custom parameters in config"? Why you are not using the custom templates functionality? Yes, they would be marked as unsupported (because we can't trust to the modifications that customers will do), but if these custom values are so important for you, I think, you can ignore the red markers in 3CX Management Console :)

About the weather.
The weather on Grandstream phones updates according to your location and we have no idea why you see "Los Angeles" when you are in "Montreal". I think, you need to forward this question to your Internet Service Provider or directly to Grandstream. 3CX is not changing the default behavior of the phone here.

Well, first of all, thanks for answering all my questions!

RFC HOLD:
I confirm that my other v15.5 is not enabled either for that. I have really no idea why it was working before. Is there any reason why it isn't enabled? It works even with 3CX.

I actually never use custom templates because I hate this concept. We should be able to have basic template containing only 3CX REQUIRED settings and let all the others to our choice. This way we could add only the settings we want.

SECURE SIP:
Thanks. I look forward to this.

USERS:
Well, if you have so much GS users, why don't get more models supported, more settings for provisioning? There is already a few posts in Ideas section about these things.

WEATHER:
That's what I mean by : it should NOT be in the template provided by 3CX. Because just to force a city, I need a custom template which is bad and not supported.

We should really have a way to add custom parameters per-device or per-profile. I was using Grandstream UCMs before and that's how they work. They provide a basic model template to get it working, then you add as much P-codes as you want.

Don't get me wrong, I love 3CX for multiple reasons! I just feel we are stuck in old ways because some features are not evolving a lot... At least, for god sake, give us a weather parameter on GS phones so we can select City and Celcius/Farenheit for each phones. Is 2 settings too much to ask? We already have settings for screensaver and LCD backlight.

Great for v16. Is there any one single location where we can see all features current and planned for v16?

Hi Frederick, I just wanted to add my 2 cents. Generally 3CX has a collaboration with all supported IP Phone manufactures where these kind of things are discussed. What I mean is, GS proposes changes and/or extra features to be included in our templates, we then assess the usefulness/importnace of these things, then together we proceed to include in the template and test.

The story is the same for new IP Phone models, they suggest, we assess, and if approved we proceed.

Features like Weather, which in this case are manufacturer-specific might be a bit harder to get approved and included as they are exactly that, manufacturer-specific. Other things though like Logo provisioning, Ringtone provisioning, VLAN, etc, which is something that all IP Phone can benefit, those are more likely to be included at some point.

To keep this short, I would suggest if you have any P codes that you think should be included, discuss it with GS and if they also feel it's important, they will relay it to us.

For things like inserting P codes directly via the Management Console, you can post and upvote threads in the Ideas section. There are many factors to what is implemented and what not, but keep in mind that we would of course prioritize something that all IP Phone manufacturers would benefit from, without of course saying that there is 0 chance of the opposite happening.

Hello @datamerge

After investigating further the issue, it seems that due to the fact that the fax field was not visible or removed from Leads card, on your Zoho configuration, the integration failed to execute successfully the predefined sequence of steps.

Fields configured on CRM templates are the ones provided by the CRM systems out of the box on Contacts, Leads and Accounts entities.

Thanks Constantinos. Fixed! There were more fields to fix. I went through the template and made sure all the fields in all modules were there and it worked properly.

Any news on the new Call Flow Design feature and scripting availability.

HI
Yes we will update the CFD to output scripts instead of a library. This will be released in upcoming versions - please bear with us a little while longer.

If you are interested to beta test what we have, feel free to send me a pm.

Can someone from 3CX tell me what the ordering of buttons in the 'Settings' section is based on because it certainly isn't alphabetical, at least not in English. Can we get that ordered alphabetically?

Hi - Yes it is not alphabetical. It is sorted based on what is most popular at the top and least interesting at the bottom.

Line 1 - All installations need to use these tiles. inevitable. And you will need to go there often - say once a month at least/

Line 2 - Integrations - Put in line 2 for promotion purposes. To show users that we have these integrations.

Line 3 4 5 - General things, prompts, things you would need but rarely - or things you configure once and then never touch again - license, Parking, CDR etc.

Last line - The last line is reserved for technical users. Phone template editors, Custom parameter table.

Maybe a search would be useful in this page.

I just noticed that when I initiate a call from the web client and I want to talk using my yealink T46S. The phone does not ring like it did before. I just shows on the screen that it is dialing.

Interesting, my Grandstream GXP2170 still does the ringback tone when dialing.

I have downloaded and installed 3CX v16 (linux). I am interested in how shared parking (SP0, SP1) has changed in the clients.
I have Play Store Android client v15.5.346.651 on my cell phone.
I am wanting to get the android client that has the ability to park/unpark (SP0, SP1...) via a single key press and also shows shared park status (green/red).
Where to get the android v16 client?
Where to get the iOS v16 client?
Where to get the windows v16 client?
Thank you,

This definitely works - you should check that the phone is working ok - and maybe clear the cache of webclient and toggle the dialing options at the top

Everything from the stores..
Windows v16 client also is located inside the build. So you install the client and there should be an update detected.

This functionality
"I am wanting to get the android client that has the ability to park/unpark (SP0, SP1...) via a single key press and also shows shared park status (green/red)."
...does not exist in the android or ios client. The mobile clients have no space to show BLF keys This operation can be done from Configured and supported IP Phones and from the windows client.

Headlines would help to follow this order

HI,
I have to do a 3CX installation next week. Would you do that with the V16 Beta? I know, not for productive environments. but what do you recommend in the case?
Is a release date known?

At the end of this month. Ask your customer. Don't do this secretly.

He will ask me what I recommend ;-) and I'm not sure because I have no experience with beta versions of 3cx.
But of course I would communicate that to the customer.

If you don't need one of the new features for this customer be safe with the old version.
