Solved 3CX Version 18 Temp Backup Location

Hello,

On version 16 when we took a backup to Google Cloud the PBX would create a zip folder in the Linux tmp location then copy it up. This meant that the tmp location had to be big enough to hold a compressed version of the PBX and recordings. We would therefore, in cases where recordings were large, move the tmp location to an additional disk.

We are now on version 18 and backing up to a Google Bucket. Does the backup work in the same way?

The reason I ask is that I was sure the last zipped backup remained in the temp location until another backup was triggered, but I can't find the zip file anywhere in my new system.

Hi Tony,

I'm not sure how it was in V16 to be honest, although I think it was the same as it is in V18, but while your 3CX is preparing the backup file, it is indeed stored in /tmp/ as a ZIP file.
Once the backup is completed, it then proceeds to upload it to the Google Bucket.

Once it has been uploaded though, the file in /tmp/ is deleted.

Hello Nick,

Thanks' for the confirmation. As I have an empty test system the backup file only exists for seconds so I could not confirm it visually.
