We have an active V15.5.20000.6 installation operational on Win Server 2012 R2. We want to keep the production server running, install V16 on a different physical server, using a V15 backup from the production server. Then disconnect the V15 server from the domain. Change the static IP of the V16 server to the original IP... reboot the V16 server and confirm operation. In this way, if we have a problem, we can disconnect the V16 server... reconnect the V15 and determine the source of the issue, losing minimal downtime for our phones.
Will this work? We've completed the V15 backup, started the V16 install on a a Win Server 19 computer, but when we get the page showing "new installation, restore a backup, restore a config"... when we try to upload the backup, nothing happens. Thank you for pointing out what we are doing wrong.
