3CX Web Meetings on IP handset

Hi,

Is it possible to hold a 3CX webmeeting via a connected IP phone such as a Yealink T58V or Fanvil X7A+CM60? I am sort of assuming it should be possible as these are both Android based phones and in the list of 3CX supported IP handsets so thinking it should just be a matter of provisioning as per any other handset and then installing the Android 3cx webmeeting app on it somehow (I may be way off the mark here and not even sure these devices are a full Android OS implementation or some kind of propiatory cut-down Android).

I am leaning towards the Fanvil X7A at the moment because it says it is Android 9 wheras the Yealink T58V is Android 5 and have also read a few complaints on this forum about various bugs in the Yealink T58 series on 3cx.

So has anyone had any experience with doing this? I do not have access to one of these to test so I want to find out if it is possible/usable before I go out and purchase one only to find out it is not possible or is unusable in the real world.

You can join a webmeeting using a deskphone, but only with audio. You will be joining as a dial-in user.

If you want the full experience then you cannot use a deskphone.

Thanks for the quick response. So what you are basically saying is that you cannot install the 3cx Android Webmeeting app on these Android handsets and they are pretty much limited to being just another "standard" IP handset on 3cx. Is that correct?

Just updating this.

I have managed to get 3CX webmeeting as well as Zoom and M$ Teams working on a Fanvil X7A with Fanvil CM60 webcam

However I can only get 3CX Webmeeting v10.6.1.10 working. Versions 10.7.0 and 10.7.1 both run fine but come up with message "You have to grant access to mic and camera in order to join" when trying to join a meeting. First run the normal Android popup comes up asking for permission and I click Allow to both. I have checked from Android settings to make sure the app does have permission to the mic and camera. If I uninstall 10.7.x and reinstall 10.6.x every thing works perfectly.

Zoom works without issue and Teams does popup a message about "Google Play Services not being available" when starting but clicking OK closes it and everything works fine.

The Fanvil X7A handset runs Android 9

One issue we found was problems when an incoming phone call is received while using apps. This is easily resolved by making sure we enable DND before stating relevant app.

For those interested I installed the 3cx, Zoom and Teams apps by downloading the apk files from apkpure and sideloaded using the builtin "Files" app. I know this is probably not "supported" but does seem to work.

Any ideas how to get past the mic and cam access errors in 10.7.x in 3CX Webmeeting app. For time being we will just keep using 10.6.x on this device.

Just an FYI: We do not recommend downloading the app from anywhere other than the official Google Play store.

Yes I was very hesitent about doing it but of course the X7A does not have the Google Play Store.

Is there a link anywhere to get an official apk file from 3cx or are you only distributing via GPS. This really leaves little choice if 3cx will not release an official apk file outside of Google ecosystem.
