Thanks for the alpha client for Mac, it is reassuring to see this moving forward.

Just for confirmation for any internal testing, we have deployed this on a few Macs for our testing and these are the results we are seeing:

Issues:
- Outbound calling consistently fails.
- 3CX Tunnel for external access does not work (changing this configuration can cause app crash @50%, Windows and iOS connect fine over 3CX Tunnel with our server).
- Changing your audio input on your Mac while the phone app is running does not update the phone app, you must exit and relaunch (i.e. - Switching to a headset from built-in equipment.)
- Setting up Conferences does not work yet.
- Switching modes to CTI does not work yet, SIP softphone only.
- Forwarding Rules in the client, when forwarding to another extension, do not show which extension the forward is going to nor provide any option to select a specific extension.
- App crashes changing most settings @25% of the time.

Functional:
- Inbound calls work.
- Changing presence works.
- Displaying contacts works (including the Mac Address book as well as the 3CX phonebooks).
- Displaying recent calls works.
- Playing voicemails works (though uses the system playback device, so if you haven't switched the Mac to a headset, it will play out on your speakers).
- Display recordings works.

Thanks for the progress and looking forward to the next release....

I'm currently running v1.0.116. This is my first time attempting to use 3CXPhone for Mac. I've configured all my accounts and settings exactly as they are from my windows 3CX, but the my Mac 3CX just says Connecting in Office. I am on the required internal network for my company's pbx, but can't connect. Any tips?

Hello,

Please make sure that:

• 3CX Phone was configured via Welcome email
• The information under account (3cx settings) are correct
• Make sure that no packets are blocked between the client and the PBX (especially in case of Wireless connection)

Thanks

I'm in an office where all of our employees use Macs. This morning, I received the following message from one of them:

"My 3CX app on my computer keeps ringing and I do not have a mic to answer it. Not sure if its a real call or what’s going on. It just started this morning and it will not stop ringing."

I checked his softphone app, and there are no issues with his settings. He is set up exactly like everyone else. I checked his extension in the management console, and there was no activity showing in the past 20 minutes, despite it ringing as I was looking at it.

He has a hardphone set up as well using the same extension, and connects to it (and his computer) with a Jabra Pro Duo.

If he rejects the call, about 10 or 15 minutes later it will happen again. Since nothing is happening on the server, this appears to be a software issue. Has anyone seen activity like this or can assist? Although our users use a hardphone, they need the software to be running to view the queue and the people logged in.

Hi Mark

The behaviour you describe is very weird and I don't remember a similar case reported so far.

The first possible reason coming to my mind is that the 3CXPhone is subject of an incoming "direct SIP call" - that means, it receives perfect valid SIP invites from sources knowing its local/public IP and its listening SIP port. However, to be sure, please:
- tell us the 3CXPhone version, as specified in its About, and the MAC OS version
- send us the log files (located in Documents/3CXPhone/Logs); once the phone behaves as you described, exit it, then pack the log files and send them to us (to our tech support or to me by PM here)
- I'm curious: the "default" caller "number" on the screenshot you provided is a real one?

Meantime, if you want, you may try one of the following:
- change, from Settings, the local SIP port
- (de)activate the tunnel
- connect to a different PBX
to see if this still happen

Also, I suggest you to upgrade to the latest available 3CXPhone.

Thanks for feedback.

I have a similar question as tylerredx. I have setup 3CXPhone on a Mac outside of the network, but it is not working. 3CXPhone is setup and working on PCs that are not on the network. It is also setup and working on a Mac that is on the network. I upgrade to Yosemite, installed the latest 3CXPhone, and opened the file that was attached to the welcome email. All 3CX does on the Mac is switch from “Connecting in office” to “Connecting out of office”, and it never can make a connection. The settings on this install are the same as the setting on another external PC that is working. I need help figuring out where my issue is on this Mac.
