Hi,

I have been using a 3CX system for over a year now and just recently I have been unable to login to the webclient. When I try to access it via the local IP or via the FQDN or the remote ip it leads to the same 403 Forbidden nginx error. The phones still respond to phone calls. I just cannot log into the user interface.

  • 3CX Version, - Professional (Annual Commercial) V16 Update 5 (Build 611)
  • Server OS, - Windows 10 (recently updated)
  • Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where? - No
  • IP Phone Make/Model/Firmware - Yealink T22 and T28 - updated as per 3cx setup guide
  • Provisioning Method: Local / VPN / STUN / SBC - Local
  • Trunk Provider or Gateway Make/Model - Australian Phone Company
  • Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES the last time I checked (before windows update)
  • Are custom Phone Templates being used: - Yes - but they have worked until now. It was just to add another telephone book.

I have looked in the forums at other people that have had this issue and have tried approaches listed
- restarting the system
- restarting the nginx services
- restarting all the 3cx services
- checking the ngingx conf file for correct values as listed in a post on the forum.

I am unsure what to do now.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi John

I tried what you recommended and I get the error "localhost could not be reached"

I feel it may be related to a certificate issue, but I am not sure.

You said the OS was recently updated:

- Fresh install Windows 10 Pro?
- Upgrade from older OS / what OS ?

HI John,

It was just a regular windows update to the most recent version.

From the windows machine the 3CX PBX is installed on try logging in using the following:
http://127.0.0.1:5004/

Also open your services tab via the task manager and make sure that the management console and nginx services are running.

Hi Yiannish,

I tried your recommendation. The services are running.

The website says that "this 127.0.0.1 page cant be found"

Are you sure you are on the machine the PBX is installed on?

Yes I am 100% sure

I have the 3cx management console shortcut on the desktop that was made with the 3cx installer and that also opens the 403 forbidden nginx page

my browser says that the page is not secure and the certificate is invalid
but when I open the certificate info it all looks OK

Please check your inbox as i have sent you a p.m. so we can investigate

The issue was caused by Norton Antivirus which blocked a PBX update and affected the roll back functionality. After Norton was uninstalled and the update was reapplied the management console was available.
