Hi all,

I have just deployed 15 phones on 3CX - first phase but they are having some issues.

1) Sometimes not all phones are ringing at once, however it is set to ring all.
2) Sometimes when transferring it goes to voicemail even though all extensions are online.
3) Error logs - phones are deregistering/registering every few minutes but the phones are still showing as registered (physically)
4) 408/487 messages in log files. - screenshot below

Please can someone assist?

Thank you in advance

Please can you supply more details of your setup, where are you hosting this, how are the phones connected, what firewall are you using?

Sorry!

SIP Provider is Voiceflex
Phones are Yealink T53/T53W and T21Ps
Zyxel Firewall with the 3CX IP in the allow list.
Connected via LAN.
Amazon Lightsail Cloud PBX

Have you allocated a large enough range of SIP ports assuming you are using these extensions in DIRECT SIP (STUN) mode. Additionally have you allowed communication outbound from the handsets to the 3CX STUN servers?

No, all phones are using same RTP

"Additionally have you allowed communication outbound from the handsets to the 3CX STUN servers?"

How do I check this, sorry?

Please assign each handset it'w own local SIP Port, RE: STUN ensure you allow port 3478 UDP outbound on your firewall.

Okay, thank you. I will do that now and will let you know how it goes :)

How many RTP ports would you recommend per phone, and should I keep same SIP port on the phone for every phone?

Will this also resolve the register/deregister message?

20 or so per handset should be fine. And yes, as they are all trying to use the same port they may be confliciting with each other if your firewall is not intelligent enough to handlke that configuration.

Okay, will do that now :)

Since adding the Firewall rule, I am mainly getting these error messages now - only one 408

Still getting same issue... :(

Did you change all the phones to use a unique local SIP port?

Reprovisioned them all to make sure the config had taken effect?

I may do for the future! Just would like to get this working first :)

It's good to get it working to gain the experience, but I would feel much more confident with an SBC in this deployment.

You have 15 phones that will need to all consume bandwidth even for local calls. Yoiu will need to forward 15 SIP ports, 15 RTP Ranges, and ensure that communication with the STUN servers, RPS, PBX SIP, RTP and Provisioning ports is not blocked. That's quite a bit of work that can be saved by using an SBC.
