I hope soon you will sell direct. I hate the channel.

"Call log" issues on all my servers after update. "Today" it show all calls from yesterday. No matter what, you cant see call log from today.

Hopefully, Grandstream support is out of beta soon.

As a platinum partner, I will wait and see how things shake out.

When looking at the entire product ecosystem, the cost and margin on the software is minor. Most of the profit is on the other products and services.

I own my clients, not 3CX , Google, OVH, or AWS. With the sip standard products we use, it would take very little effort to move to another platform. I am not planning to move, but if you are not happy, then do what you need to do.

Giveaways are great and drive market penetration, but you still need someone with knowledge to get it all up and working.

Always have since I worked for DELL.
If you have a service, sell that, but forget marking up product that you didn't create.

These clowns want the domain so they can fake the client into believing they created the product, and hold them hostage so they can't easily switch They probably even change the icon in the web page.

My customers know they can easily switch from what I have provided, and get support should I die.

Buy the pro if you want to do these thing.

It's all about cheapskates.

Hey, classy move on bringing back support for Grandstream devices. Much appreciated. Also very cool move for expanding the free license to 16SC. Thanks for the hard work guys!

Not very happy with the fqdn and smtp decision. We already have 3 16std licences and I don't feel like updating them because of this....

Buy the pro and stop complaining.
Regarding the channel, I've been a Novell Gold Dealer, Microsoft, Citrix, and 3CX dealer.
I still have the client purchase through Amazon and I charge a high rate for my services.

We can't upgrade any of our offices due to the SMTP changes (unless 3CX is willing to sign a BAA which I doubt). Why would you introduce such radical changes in a service pack?

EDIT: Not affected because we have pro licenses but my question still stands... Why would you introduce such radical changes in a service pack?

Ran into a big issue with the templates for the Grandstreams.

The PC port is being turned off.

This is what is in the template:

<!-- PC Port Mode. 0 - Enable, 1 - Disabled, 2 - Mirrored. Default is 0 -->
<!-- Number: 0, 1, 2 -->
<!-- Mandatory -->
<P1348>%%vlanpcenabled%%</P1348>

This is what gets generated, it effectly turns off the PC port which is very bad.

<!-- PC Port Mode. 0 - Enable, 1 - Disabled, 2 - Mirrored. Default is 0 --><!-- Number: 0, 1, 2 --><!-- Mandatory --><P1348>1</P1348>

If we enable the PC port VLAN, but don't change it from 0, it is correct.

<!-- PC Port Mode. 0 - Enable, 1 - Disabled, 2 - Mirrored. Default is 0 --><!-- Number: 0, 1, 2 --><!-- Mandatory --><P1348>0</P1348>

We had the same issue and just saw your post after creating a new thread.

The SMTP requirement opens a lot of liability and compliance issues. In the United States we have HIPAA for Healthcare, PCI for credit cards, SOX for publicly traded companies, etc. Sending voicemails and credentials over an SMTP connection to an organization that doesn't have a Business Associate Agreement or other "shared responsibility" agreement is not permissible for organizations that have compliance requirements.

Again, it doesn't feel like a win/win when there's an increase in price for no other functionality other than to get the ability to set the FQDN and SMTP settings.

Jimbo59 your avatar and attitude match, which is cracking me up! Your wit certainly adds liveliness to the discussion. ;)

We've been using GS since 2010 with 3CX, in fact 3CX suggested we did so. The support I've seen since the update seems to work well with all our test handsets including CSTA
Do you have a template for the GS DECT 750 ?

as on linux there are to parts to the update process, the server URL you see in the console informing the OS about an update and in linux the apt-get used repository. There is release for a debian 9 stretch

root@debian3cx:~# cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/3cxpbx.list
deb http://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/debian stretch main

Could you be a bit more specific on how to fix the beta is the only update showing? One of my Linux is running Debian Jessie and was installed via the 3cx cloud tool on 1and1, and seems stuck only showing the beta update.

Thanks

Daniel

I agree. If we can't make money we shouldn't give away the secret to the best product. We should hide it from them and sell a lesser product. It's the way of greed. Long live greed!

Why not go fully direct now? Makes much more sense.
When Dell left the Channel in the 90's, we never looked back. Soon Compaq was history and we were number 1.

There is a bug in the management console -- the webclient password is not visible / editable.

They turned that off for security.
You can now simply change it and email the user.
You can't see it.
It's another feature.

Give them Standard and support it. Easy peasy.

Don't think it affects existing installs - only new ones. SO upgrading is not an issue - even if you are on Standard.
