Ability to set my Caller ID for Outbound Calls, specifically for calls to 911.

Right now, I can not program any DID's except the main number as an Outbound Caller ID in case of circumstances to call 911.

After all this time and we still have no response from 3CX about this feature. This functionality is available in competing PBX. I alredy loose some projecs because the lack of this feature on 3CX.

Best regards

The GS UCM has the exact ability to set caller ID for outbound calls and even a specific caller ID for emergency calls. Not sure why 3CX doesn't since it's standard everywhere else.

+1
I find it archaic that this feature is not working. You can set the outbound caller ID to show the desired number for outgoing and immediate diverted calls only to have it show the company main number for incoming calls to an extension that diverts to mobile on No Answer.

I have a serviced office that is on the verge of throwing this system out because of this situation.

This ability should be selectable at the extension level or in Outbound Rules. In Progress since 2015?

While we highly desire this feature aswell, you can solve your incoming call issue by setting the "OriginatorCallerID" setting under your SIP Trunks Outbound Parameters.

outbound caller ID in outbound rule
agree, this should be an option in outbound rule
i worked years with asterisk and there it was obvious
went to 3cx for the user interface
should be very easy to implement for 3cx dev team
seems to me that it is not rocket sience.
why is it not implemented yet as so many are asking for - desperatly needing it
and why is 3cx not clearly communicating
think it could boost there sales

At the very least there could be more transparency on the status of this issue from 3cx. I don't see 3cx being a viable solution for us without this feature.

I'd +1 this as well got a call centre asking for it

Doesn't look like this is going to change anytime soon, but it is on their roadmap: https://www.3cx.com/blog/releases/v16-roadmap-updates/ but not slated until Update 8, but no further detail on how it will change.

+1 from me!
I'm shocked really. This is a *really* fundamental requirement yet resource is put into fancy development such as the mobile clients & social media integration etc. So many people have posted saying they have chosen not to go to 3CX or resellers (even gold partners!) have lost sales due to what should be a quite simple fix. Correct me if it's not a simple fix. Any feedback from development regarding this would be appreciated as this requirement has been ongoing for years with the only 3CX feedback being 'in the pipeline'. The roadmap is the worst 'in the pipeline' yet as it's just a 'try to include' with no timescales.

I'm still learning about, after reading all this about e911

I don't understand the option inside 3CX

Settings --> General --> Emergency Number Settings --. Outbound Caller ID

When dialed, this number will ignore outbound in office or out of office rules

I was expecting the outbound caller ID will be forced to match before send when dialing 911

Not the case a I can see, then whats the propose of this feature?

Thanks

wow nearly 5 years, and still not an option? and facebook chat integration is deemed more important and precedes this request?

There is a big to Do list for 3cx, but thay do only things that nobody needs or they disable Features that someone needs.

Thay say since years, yes we make an RESTful api. Where is it?

So we made an own API wich use the HTTP Protocol and now they say, that they no longer support the call control api.

3cx doesnt listen to there users.

we are not going to extend our contract or make it extremely large as planned.

+1 Need this feature as well!

+1 any news? I stopped reading after a post from 2006 saying it will be implemented.....
Adding the optional Ountbound Caller ID to an Outbound Rule would be a very big +!!

As far as I can tell so far, these basics are required.
  1. Day/Night/ALT Modes without bouncing off a virtual extension.
  2. Better control of Call Diversion CLID.
  3. IVR Option to transfer externally without bouncing off a Virtual Extension.
  4. Control visibility of Directory by class of service.
  5. Queue Wall Board by individual Queue, not aggregate totals.
I would add audit logs as well. Hopefully, it will make it in the next Service Pack

+1 NEED this feature. Come on 3CX take care of the basic functionality holes in the system!

+1 Desperately needed, surely now it is done for emergency dialing outbound rules it could be extended quite easily to the standard outbound rules??

Any news on this? It's been years.

5 years ago caller ID for outbound rules sounded like it was right around the corner to be added per Nick Galea. Will this ever see the light of day?
