It's been a couple of years so I wanted to check back and see if this functionality had been added by any chance....
I'm looking to be able to do an ad-hoc conference triggered from the phone so that I can take an existing call, put them on hold, call another user, join them into a 3 way conference, then call (or answer a call) with another party and join them in, etc up to 6 or more parties. I'm hoping that this will be a server side conference so it's not restricted by a handset's ability to conference 3 people, but instead uses the server as the bridge. This is functionality that Shoretel users are used to and so get effectively switch them to 3CX I need similar functionality.
The yealink T4 series support the use of a "network conference" via RFC 4579, which then supports up to 16 people (depending on the yealink model). This allows adding people by simply using the 'conference' button to join people to a conference. The yealink manual refers to this as "Network conference, also known as centralized conference, provides users with flexibility of call with multiple participants (more than three). IP phones implement network conference using the REFER method specified in RFC 4579. This feature depends on support from a SIP server."'
So I was hoping the 3CX Server would be able to act as a conference server, supporting the RFC4579 REFER commands from the Yealink.
It seems like the yealink phones can deal with this, it's just a matter of having the 3cx server be able to handle the incoming refer request to build a conference.
Any chance that this has been added or is on the roadmap?
