We need to connect a few FAX machines to 3CX
I know its not the best idea and it may not work all the time, but still we need to connect

What adapter would you suggest to use ?

Any chance for something a bit more widely available ?
I can live with manual configuration

Please try SPA3102 (EOL), now a unsupported device, but long time ago it was a supported by 3CX or try the Grandstream HT-503 running on firmware 1.0.14.100 (NOT the latest one)

Thanks I already tried Grandstream on latest firmware and it wasn't so good.
Will see if I can find SPA3102

Please do NOT use the latest firmware. It sucks. Use firmware 1.0.14.1 or 1.0.14.100

I was hopping to find some device that will work normally without "special needs" like old firmware
But I will try to downgrade to 1.0.14.1 or 1.0.14.100 and check how it works

Grandstream HT-701 or 801, Cisco SPA112 or 122

Hi Flash 99,

The Patton Smartnode FXS 411X range are in my view the best devices to use with 3CX that support FAX. They are auto-configurable from the management console and very solid: https://www.3cx.com/voip-gateways/patton-smartnode-sn4112-fxs/

I would add however that FAX for hosted systems is not currently supported for SBC and STUN (although I have heard some word that this will change shortly) VPN is OK though.

Is this FAX requirement crucial to the customers business ? although an FXS device is a good option they could always move across to an online FAX service (if not required for legal reasons for example).

Unfortunately FAX is crucial
Its going to be on the LAN with 3CX so at least this is not a problem
Patton is also not so widely available

Grandstream HT-701 or 801, Cisco SPA112 or 122
AudioCodes Mediant MP112 for best results.
VoIP provider must support T.38
