Hello,

Our client has a request for the functionality to, while on the phone with a caller from the queue start a 3-way call with a staff member. After the introduction, the queue agent would leave the 3-way call with the staff member and caller from the queue staying in the call.

They are using GXP2170s, which can start a (simple) conference from the handset bringing the 3 calls together. But from my testing, the initiator of the call can't leave the call without ending it for the other parties (queue caller and staff member).

Is there any way to make this work, ideally in a simple fashion for the queue agents, without the agent needing to stay in for the rest of the call?

An attended transfer sounds like what you're looking for. If you look at the extension configuration under phone provisioning, do you have an option to change the transfer method from Blind to Attended as the default?

@Makelikeapbx That is exactly what I was looking for, thank you!

For reference, its setting P2304 in the template. Now when the initiator of the conference call hangs up, it will connect the other two callers.

@vizualpro The attended transfer wouldn't fully satisfy the requirements as it wouldn't let the caller talk to the queue agent and staff member at the same time.
