ADSL bandwidth allocation

Hi there,
I have a question about the bandwitch allocation using an ADSL connection. How much voip clients could I serve with a 256 kbps upload connetion? I think it's somehow related with the codec I'm cosidering to use, but it will be nice to have an average usage.
