Hello,

We previously experienced an issue with call forwarding where the callee’s number was displayed instead of the caller ID. We have resolved this by enabling the "also ring my mobile" option, which now correctly displays the caller's number.

However, we would like to know if it is possible to adjust the delay before this feature triggers. Currently, it takes approximately 8 seconds to reach the mobile device, but some of our users require a different time interval.

Is there a way to customize this duration?

The delay,(or at least most of it) for the call to begin ringing, on the mobile may me caused by the mobile providers network itself. If you have a look at the 3CX Activity Log, you will see the time from the origin of the incoming call until it is passed onto your outgoing provider, who then passes it to the mobile provider.

I know that on a number of occasions, when calling a mobile number directly, it can sometimes take several seconds before the call begins ringing. This could be the result of network congestion or other factors.

Are you wanting to increase this delay, or shorten it? In any event, I'm not aware of any setting in 3CX to change this.

The "Also Ring My Mobile" timeout in 3CX is tied to the extension ring timeout setting, not a separate mobile-specific timer. Here is how to control it:

In the 3CX management console, go to Users, open the extension, and look at the Forwarding Rules tab. The ring duration before the call forwards or goes to voicemail is set per rule (e.g. Available, Away, Do Not Disturb). The mobile simultaneous ring follows this same timer.

Key points:

1. The ring timeout is set in seconds under the forwarding rule. Default is typically 20-30 seconds. Increase this if mobile is not ringing long enough before the call drops or forwards.

2. If the mobile is ringing but cuts off before the desktop app, check whether the SIP provider or GSM carrier is imposing its own timeout. Some carriers answer the call to mobile voicemail before 3CX considers it unanswered, which terminates the simultaneous ring early.

3. On V20, also verify the extension is not in a ring group with a shorter ring timeout that overrides the individual extension setting.

4. If using the 3CX mobile app rather than a GSM number, ensure push notifications are working - a delayed push can make the mobile appear to ring late and cut off sooner.
