Hi,

I'm trying to provision 3CX in my brand new Android 12 car stereo. No luck, the head unit doesn't have a camera for the QR code and the provisioning file is refused by the software too. I even tried to connect an external USB camera as a workaround but it was a fail.

Do you have any idea? Is it supported? I've found this article. https://www.3cx.com/blog/unified-communications/android-car-pbx/

"black screen" when trying to provision QR code and "Failed to provision from a content file" when using chrome to open the .3cxconfig

Thank you

It might help if you made mention of the make and model, of the unit. Someone else may have attempted on the same unit. I'm assuming that this is not simply a bluetooth car stereo.

It may be that the manufacturer has put some restrictions on the unit, that is preventing it from accepting the provisioning file. Have you tried reaching out to the manufacturer, to see if this is a known issue?

Hi @leejor,

Are you aware of someone trying V18 on an Android 12 car stereo? It would be nice to have some different experiences with QR code provisioning or manual provisioning.

I have CPU-Z installed on the unit, I will post a screenshot today.

Thank you

You might need to load a custom file manager and tell it to load the provisioning file from a USB.

It worked fine just downloading the prov file in chrome on mine however..

Hi @BrenttG,

Thank s for the hint. With the workaround it worked.

- Google Chrome --> Impossible to provision
- Built-in Android File Explorer --> Impossible to provision

I had to install a third-party file explorer. In my case, I used Total Commander.
I hope 3CX will learn a bit about the missing webcam on those Android radio units.

Solved!

That would be more a limitation on the firmware of that Android unit, than 3CX's fault... Ive used a number of them, and the one in my truck is pretty smart, but one that a buddy bought and brought over for me to help install was pretty dumb, it had big issues with file associations, and we had to install CX File Explorer to get it to do anything properly
