Auto assign extensions

Hi, I am trying to auto assign 200+ extension without me having to do so manually for each extension. I have gone into extensions on the 3cx console (Professional version 16.0.910), downloaded the .csv file, typed in the extensions and MAC address of each of my phones and then re-imported this.

There are no errors during the import process. When I plug a phone in (yealink T19-E2) it will get the correct IP address (DHCP option 132) and appear in the 3cx console under the phone section but it won't be assigned to the extension that I want. If I choose the phone from the console and then go assign extension it will then assign to the extension.


What am I missing? I have attached my .csv (I have taken the IP address of the server out and all the password in are randomly generated and have been changed)

Try using option 66 on the dhcp server https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/dhcp-option-66/

Hi Merlin

The option will assign everything, but a command will not be issued to each phone in order to auto provision (like if done manually via the Assign Ext)

In this case DHCP Option 66 is indeed needed

Thanks, this did the tick and will save an absolute shed load of time. The documentation does need to be updated though as the location of where to find the provisioning URL has changed since when the document was first published.
