Hello,
I have successfully installed a windows SBC for a remote branch. The SBC is up and online in the Console.
I follow this guide to add an IP phone, connect via SBC.
I get the following message in Logs:
Provisioning file for MAC 0C383E1Axxxx of user 3xxx requested by 8x.x.6x.2xx was successfully generated
then:
Provisioning file f0x3shw1.100.cfg requested by 8x.x.6x.2xx could not be generated
and the phone does not provision.
However, If i navigate to the phone web interface, under Static Provisioning Server I see the Server address and config file name are completed with correct (?) values of my 3cx fqdn and port.
server: xxxx.3cx.eu:5001
config file: rps/3xxx:59043312/$mac.cfg

If I manually configure the phone, specifying server, port, auth id, password, outbound proxy and port under Line, everything works fine.

3cx: v20 debian
SBC: Windows
phone: Fanvil x5s or x3s

No, not really. I was expecting to provision it first so I could push updates from the console. Should I update the phone fw manually ?

I would try. In my experience, mostly with Yealink, normal phones are usually OK but router phones with old firmware can both fail and trigger blacklisting.

I upgraded the x5s firmware to the latest version, same problem.
The phone is not a router phone.
I did the firmware upgrade, reset phone, delete from extension, added again, booted phone and this is what i get in logs again:

update: setting "enable all provision prompt" in phone web ui I get the message "Invalid File"
Is it possible the generated config file is not valid for the phone ?

Do you have access to the phone UI? Can you manually download the config file and upload it through the phone interface? I'm curious if you're having the same issue as me. I'm experiencing a similar issue but I'm not sure if it's exactly the same cause.

Had the same thig happen to me with Fanvil x6u fw: 2.4.12. I did everything you did with no success (even tried different 3cx instances) and was about to put a ticket in when I decided to head over to Fanvil to check firmware, they had 2.4.13 available so I upgraded the phone and my extension came right up. Lastly I went back to the 3cx admin/phones and downgraded back to 2.4.12. All seems to be working no ideal what happened. Hope that helps!

We have reported an issue to Fanvil which may cause some models to not provision over RPS.

They confirmed they were able to replicate the issue and are working on a solution.

If you are behind SBC I can suggest a temporary workaround:

1. Delete the phone from 3CX (this will clear the RPS too)
2. Factory reset the phone after RPS is cleared
3. Admin Console >> Phones >> Options >> Disable 3CX RPS
4. You can now factory reset your phone, and when it comes online go and assign it to your extension from Phones >> PnP Phones

* It should be noted that its mostly older models that are affected. Newer models appear to be fine for now.

* You should not need to do this on X-V2 models or V6x series. Anyone having issues with those you should still investigate other possible reasons.

This option for Disable 3CX RPS does not appear in Version 18. What do we do for that?

We have several customers with issues.

edit: I got it to work, was an IP Blacklist issue. If you are having problems do not forget to check the blacklist! Which is well hidden in version 20...

Still no word on Version 18 for this issue?

I never received any response that it has been resolved but mine are now provisioning correctly.

Fanvil had an RPS issue which should now be resolved.

1. Delete phone from extension
2. Factory reset phone to clear previous RPS data
3. Add phone to extension again, and reboot the device to provision itself.

Thanks for this! I just tried again and you are correct. This is now working correctly again.

@bobby_sos So just to clarify, you did follow the instructions that were provided by John and it's all working now?

Thank you

Just to update everyone, Fanvil resolved the temporary issue on their RPS service and it should be back to normal.

You will still need to follow my instructions regarding any phones that were configured during the incident, otherwise they will not provision due to some invalid data that they have already downloaded from the RPS.

I did this:
1. Remove phone from user/extension in 3CX
2. Factory reset phone (in my case an older X5U version 1)
3. Phone appears in 3CX for plug in play, assign to extension/user, works as expected!

@bobby_sos Perfect and thank you for the feedback provided!
