How about CFD? when will be integrated again? how can i resolve the problem to this customer? Rollback, and eventually, how? I understand automatically update on similar version/templates and so on, but a fully upgrade with a new licensing and featuring it's horrible

Then why the instance was in auto-update? It should never be unless it's a demo install.

auto-update is intended to keep system updated. i don't expect a release with downgraded features... and until v15.5 is not deprecated or no more supported, i expect to be able to install that version... so i could reverse the update with my backups, but even starting a fresh new install, automatically goes on v16; but on the site there's still the "actual version" as v15.5, and the v16 launch expected in 4days.... not on friday night without advise. Now... any concrete help?

First of all, there has been multiple emails and blog post concerning the changes in licensing and the way v16 release will be handled. You probably didn't see them has you didn't expect less features.

Also, please note that all Commercial Standard (not free ones) will be upgraded to Pro for v16 to prevent feature loss. All this will be ready on April 1st.

To downgrade, I really think you cannot since the ISO is a web installer. If you use Windows, you might be able to download the v15 setup.

Now, I strongly recommend to never enable auto-update on any system, whether it's 3CX or even Windows. Updates can cause problems like interoperability issues, compatibility errors or total failure if something went wrong. Manually doing updates allow you to prevent this kind of situation.

i was talking about CFD... That license it's already and Enterprise edition. V16 actually don't have CFD feature. I will try anyway with the windows version, and i hope it will keep my backup from linux version

even windows install has only v16 download.

The CFD will be back with a new method of using it. The old concept should still work tho when they release the new CFD.

Surprised you on't have a v15.5 download laying around as someone who is both advanced certified and a platinum partner.

The new CFD or whatever they are calling it will be available in v16 Update 1 as stated here:

https://www.3cx.com/community/threa...oducing-the-free-pro-trial.64104/#post-271702

For Windows v15.5 you can download it here:

https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/3CXPhoneSystem155.exe

For Linux that's a little tricker but I imagine you can dig it out of apt cache or something. That I haven't tried yet.

You'll need to reach out to 3CX sales to tweak your license as well because I think the license is 'upgraded' when you upgrade to v16 and would need to be rolled back if possible.

And yes the backups are agnostic so you can backup from either platform and restore to either platform.

We actually have a v15.5 master VM on our Datacenter, but the problem is for a single instance private to a customer... where we can't upload our Master cause it's on a different virtualization system... actually we migrated his system by hosting it on our datacenter, my first question was just to have some fast tips if anyone could give us... 400+ linux machines can't be modified to windows due to massive price investement needed for, and was my personal opinion about release a new version without a feature like CFD and before the launch event that it's actually scheduled 27/03, and was not intended to offend anyone; i read about UPDATE 1, but without ETA or release date it's almost useless. We fixed anyway our problem already, but thanks fot the tips

Glad you got it resolved. It's definitely not ideal and if your system(s) auto-updated when it shouldn't have let 3CX know because that definitely shouldn't happen.

We just started to implement 3cx in our business with CFD on v15.5.

We wanted to test some CRM features from v16 and updated to v16 (non beta, non RC), now without any warning when installing the update the CFD feature is missing.

All our logic was based on the CFD, how is it possible to release a new stable upgrade that is a really a downgrade for the CFD part, the install procedure could have been implemented to detect that a CFD application is configured and warn the user that if they upgrade, that feature will not work,

Tried to reinstall v15.5 with old iso but as noted by someone here the installer downloads v16.

Now that this happened we started reading and found out that an Update 1 is expected, is there an ETA ?
Is there any way to get a beta installer for Update 1 to be able to get things running again ?

Debian:
  • apt-get remove --purge 3cxpbx
  • apt-get install 3cxpbx=15.5.15502.6
