Avaya J100 series phones with 3CX

Has anyone had success on the latest version of 3CX with Avaya J169/179 SIP phones (in generic or 3CX mode)?

Avaya seems to indicate there is support and a way to make a template, but the 3CX website does not seem to offer anything. Just legacy phone templates for older Avaya 9600 series phones.

I can get basic call functionality with a custom template but not much else in the way of park, etc.

Just wondering if anyone is using this or knows where to get a fully functional template.

Sounds like you should talk to Avaya if they indicate there is support.

The settings file I believe I read a "enabled 3CX" option awhile back.
Avaya Vantage phones work great with the 3CX App.

Avaya's J Series with Open SIP works with Park and other features in Ring Central so I'm sure they would work I just haven't had a deal to really push me to test it out yet. As in the end with no support from 3CX I wouldn't want to go down that road without a complete expectation set from the customer that they are "not supported by 3CX"

I know Avaya wants other vendors to use their phones but word on the street there's some bad blood between 3CX and Avaya so 3CX really isn't interested in approving the J series phones. With the fact they are a direct competior even though their hosted solution is way too expensive and no one is buying it.

Thanks. Yes, it seems that this is something Avaya really wanted but never really came to be. Their configuration doc says this: " With 3CX server, you can automatically create the appropriate device (J100settings.txt) and user (.txtspecific configuration files from the management system on the 3CX Provisioning Server. " I just haven't found that to be true. Good to hear that Vantage phones are working. (we have a lot of customers on Powered By but I understand what you are saying about the expense--and future customers will just be server edition in the cloud now anyway). Thanks all
