Solved Backup on-premise server configuration and move to Cloud storage

Hi guys,

For one of our customers we need to configure a 3CX environment. The thing is, they already have a 3CX envoriment that is running at one of our competitors. This solutions is working on a Yeastar server.
They want to make the switch to us (we also provide other services for them) and want to keep their current settings, extensions, etc.
My company strictly works with cloud solutions, so we would like to move them to the cloud while keeping the same FQDN.

Is is possible to do this? We can get a full backup of their current configuration, but we wont be allowed to actually go into the server ourself (since it is the hardware and service of our competitor).

I'm not sure what your question is. If you are asking if you can move 3CX installations the answer is yes. If you are asking if DNS is DNS the answer is yes. If you are asking how to get a backup of a system you have no access to I'm not sure how we can help? I guess if it's a linux install and you have local access to it then you can look up any number of guides on how to recover/change a root password to get access and then take a local backup.

Sorry if im being unclear.
My question is: can we transfer the settings and extensions from an on premise server, to a new server in the cloud?
My idea was that I could ask the current provider to run a backup of their 3CX server (they want to help me with that, so thats nice), they would give it to me and I would just put that backup in the new cloud server. This would help me, because then I dont have to reconfigure everything for the client and I can simply put in new SIP trunks and be done with it.

@YWiegman yes this is possible.
Now if your FQDN is a 3CX and your key is Annual, then you may spin it up to 3CX Hosted solution.
If the FQDN though is a custom one and as you said you want to keep thi, they you will have to do this to your own server.. Of course you have bring in the certificates during installation, and setup your own Public DNS.

So yes, backup and restore is the approved way to move things so if they are willing to help, so much the better. But you need to make sure the old instance is offline before you spin up the cloud, and then there's re-provisioning the phones which could vary depending on how they are currently provisioned.
