Best experience supported IP phones

Looking for opinion on what is the best manufacturer for supported features on 3cx.

In my case, been using mostly yealink phones. They generally work great, provisioning is super easy and most everything works well. The only thing that does not work well out of the box is multicast paging. the settings by default are aweful because it interrupts someone on the phone to make a page. I must customize the template to change the multicast settings so it does not clobber anyone already on a phone call.

Is there any other model of phones that people like better? I heard one of the sale guys mention he recommends SNOM phones but didn't elaborate on why. Also it seems like the most popular model phones around here are the polycom VVX 400 series, but that might come down to availability and brand awareness more than anything else. I have not personally played with newer Polycom phones, just some older models with the older style provisioning that is end of life now.

So ignoring pricing, distribution, warranty and stuff what is the phone that just works best with 3cx defaults?

Yealink, snom is a distant second and everything else behind those. The new VVX xx1 phones were just added so those might be worth a look (note the ending '1' in the model). Fanvil is trying hard and just upped their warranty to 2 years. I have a box of demo phones here. I do like their LCD BLF.

Regarding your complaint about the paging, that isn't entirely 3CX's fault. The vendor (Yealink in this case) is responsible for creating the template and recommended firmware to use and they submit that to 3CX. 3CX tests that configuration and then approves it. If you look at the 3CX Yealink template they are using the Yealink defaults.

I prefer Snom to Yealink, they are for sure higher price than Yealink, never got problems even with entry price models.
Most of the time adding a Snom phone takes more time to unbox it than provisioning on 3cx. they are very reliable and stable in time.
Never got any use of 3 years warranty included as they never failed.

Sounds good everyone. I basically jumped from old crappy unsupported phones directly to the Yealink brand without trying anything else so I wasn't sure if there was some other consensus on what works well.

Yealink makes the firmware but 3cx publishes and supports those templates. So the fault squarely lands on them for the poor decision to make it default to overriding active calls. They could have make it a configuration option just as easily too.

So the only change I have to make is
multicast.receive_priority.priority = 0

And I will do a file comparison when I see a new Yealink template release. I updated when they added all the new T5x models, but generally skip the common minor language and timezone changes.

In my opinion, Grandstream GRP series phones are the best.
The "line" or "SIP account" keys are separate from the BLF keys on the phone. This is less confusing for users who don't have a clue about phones. You can also program the line keys to be BLFs or shared call park apperance if you want too.
The Grandstream GRP series are the easiest to provision if you ask me. I use 2x GRP2614 and 2x GRP2616 in my setup, and they work great.
