My current system is self hosted in the cloud and is set to a static ip.
My provider has an option to restore a backup into a new instance, doing so will create a new machine with a new static ip.
My concern is that I don't want to accidentally change DNS to my live running system and take down our phones.
Or maybe that's not a concern? Maybe it doesn't work that way... Not really sure, if anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it.

Hi @freshEF,

Firstly, we don't recommend backing up a system by spinning up a new instance with your provider as the new instance will try to contact our activation server and cause issues as the license key will be activated on 2 seperate IPs.

If you'd like to test Alpha, I suggest creating a Try license key which can be found on our Website under the Try section. Once you verify the email address, you can deploy this key a 3CX hosted instance and within 12 minutes you'll be ready to test out v18.

That's what I was afraid of. Thank you.

No problem @freshEF, if you require any further information, feel free to open a new thread!
