BLF inconsistent

I currently have 20 GXP2170 (FW 1.0.9.102) phones connected to a cloud hosted 3CX server. All the phones are using Direct SIP (STUN-remote) for provisioning. We have noticed after the recent update, some of the phones losing the status of BLFs and the Shared Parking lines. If we re-provision the phone that is effected it works for awhile, but eventually starts to have issues again.

Would moving the phones behind a Debian SBC resolve our issue? I read the SBC is limited to 250 BLFs which includes Shared Parking.

So first of all, anything more than a single phone I would use a SBC or a site-to-site VPN. If you go the SBC route I believe the 20 devices/250 total BLFs was about the max for a Pi 2 based SBC so you can probably do a Pi 3 (Pi 3 B+ is current model) or go for a PC-based SBC (I'd do Debian).

Please note that for the number of phones you are running an SBC would be better as it will help you eliminate all firewall configuration for 20 phones. You can use a windows SBC that has higher capacity or use 2 or more SBCs on the same site.
That does not mean that configuring the phones using STUN will not work but it will require assigning each phone with unique SIP and RTP ports and port forward these ports to the local IP of the device. Also SIP ALG must be turned of on the remote firewall.

Is there actual difference or limitation running the SBC on Debian vs Windows, since both use x86 hardware? Or was that mainly for Raspbian on the Pi?

Windows or Debian, if you are running on x86 hardware, there is no difference, the hardware specs and capabilities remain the same. I suppose it just comes down to what OS you are more comfortable with.

The Pi though does have though a lower phone count limit.
