Hello,

We've noticed that when a user updates their BLFs from their interface, they only update on their phone when they restart it.
However, when we do this via the administration interface, the update is instantaneous.

Can you tell me how to fix this problem?

SW & HW :
3CX Version 20.0 Update 5 (Build 551 Release)
Snom D865

Many thanks!

This behaviour occurs because when a user initiates the action from their WebClient, it does not trigger a reprovisioning request to the phone, unlike when done via the Admin Console. As a result, the phone does not automatically fetch the updated configuration.

To apply the changes, the user must manually reboot their phone, which will then request and use the new configuration upon startup.

Thank you, yes I noticed that too.
But are there any plans to fix this problem?

We do not have any further information on this, as it is working as designed and does not require a fix.

The user doesnt have the necessary admin rights to provision a phone. They are essentially requesting the change, and the phone will load the new configuration on the next reprovisioning cycle, which is generally once every 24 hours.

The restarting of the phone will also trigger a reprovisioning of the device and is technically a loophole which they are utilising.

What a pity!
Why? A user shouldn't have admin rights.

Because something is not convenient, it doesn't mean it is wrong. There is still a way that they can achieve what you need.

It is just a matter of rights. Would you give your users access to change something on any other of the systems they use? Or would they have to go through the admin?

Hello,
I'm not asking for users to have administrator rights, but for the BLF to be updated immediately when they update their configuration.

You can't update only the BLFs, without also triggering a full reprovision event. This also comes with other consequences, there are very good reasons to keep this an admin function.

OK, thanks for your feedback.

In SP7 phone reprovisioning scheme became more centralized and now allows what you're looking for.
So unless the testing stage points to some major problem with this, it will be included in SP7.
