I go out of the office with my smartphone and the 3CXphone App on the device. I get into my car and now it would be nice when i can connect via bluetooth to my car so I can answer calls or speak over the car phone.

Any solution in working or workarounds?

Today I made test with Samsung Galaxy s8+ and Skoda/VW car.
It is not possible to pickup and hangoff the call. Is 3CX working on this problem or feature?

This feature will be available in a future release of the 3CX Client for Android where we'll include CallKit features in our client.

CallKit allows you to use bluetooth devices to answer/drop calls + a lot of other features. This CallKit feature was only available on iOS by Apple so far, but recently Google has also added their version in Android 8.0 and above, so users with this version of Android will be able to answer calls using their bluetooth devices as soon as this is implemented on our side.

You'll need to wait a while longer for this feature as it's something that Google only very recently added and is not as easy as saying "USE CALLKIT" to make it work :)

Dear Leonidas,

thank you for your answer. Our Samsung S8+ is running on Android Version 8.0.0.......

If I understand it correctly Callkit it is not supported in the 3CX Android Version 15.5.340.360. Correct? Is a timeline available for this feature?

Correct, CallKit doesn't exist yet for version 15.5.340.360. It will be included in several versions from now. The only timeline i can give you for this is, "When it's done". Your Android S8 which is running Android 8 will definitely support this feature once our app supports Callkit.

On an iPhone it is possible because of the support of callkit but i have now another issue with support isn't helping me with. I have now multiple cars and iPhones (iPhone 6, 6s, 7 - Audi, VW, Volvo, BMW) with a choppy audio, only one-way it sound for the one on the phone like you are under water, i can hear the one on the phone in the car fine. As soon as i switch to speaker or iPhone the sound is fine.

It is very frustrating because 3cx said they don't support 3rd party peripherals, and it worked fine before but I don’t know on which update it stopped unfortunately because I didn’t noticed it very quick because the other side has the problem.

If you're a member of our iOS Beta program, please keep an eye on TestFlight, we plan to release a new beta these days, mainly updated for iOS 11.4, so you will be able to see if there's some improvements.

Thanks for your quick answer, I am a member of the beta program so I will look forward to the newest release!

OK, 15.5.16.400 is available on TestFlight, so when you will have some time please give it a try and let me know if is working better.
Thanks

Bluetooth issue is resolved in this version.

@hedan
Thanks for help!

Hi Vali, I've been dealing with this same issue for a while and has made using 3CX while in my car unusable. Do you know when a new iOS version will be uploaded to the app store?

Also, how do I get on the beta?

Thanks.

Hi Joe
We plan to release at the beginning of the next week.
For Beta program, you may use the link provided by Craig or you can send me by PM your Apple ID and I will add you manually (a bit faster way than using the form)
Thanks
vali

@hedan & @Joe Wright
OK, iOS client 15.5.16 has been released, hopefully the car bluetooth audio is now better.

I can confirm the issue seems to have been fixed - tested on a Bluetooth headset and two in-car systems

is the callkit function for android devices also in deployment?

Yes, we're hoping to have something to show for this quite soon. Keep an eye out for one of the upcoming betas.

The beta with CallKit enabled will be out in a short while. Please do read the changelog here:
https://www.3cx.com/blog/change-log/3cxphone-android-build-history/

It will be enabled for only specific devices as most devices out there don't support CallKit fully yet. You do have an option to enable it manually. Try it and let us know if it works on your device or not.

I have a 1st Gen Moto Z Force running Android 8. I am also experiencing the issues with using my steering wheel to answer calls. I understand the callkit functionality was recently released with Android 8 and that the 3CX softphone app for android is gradually implementing this functionality with specific models of phones. Definitely looking forward to this feature in the near future.

I would also like to add, and this is most likely a whole separate feature request...integration with Android Auto if possible.

I use a Moto Mod car dock with my Moto Z Force and the Google Android Auto app comes up full screen in landscape mode on the phone for music/entertainment, appointment/Google Maps information, weather, etc and supports third party apps being integrated with it. It basically takes over the phone screen and makes it more driver in motion friendly. When I get a call on my 3CX phone system and it rings my extension on the 3CX softphone app, the 3CX app pops up over the top of the Android Auto app and they begin competing for the screen. It causes me to have to "fiddle" with my phone far more than I should while in motion even if I do not answer the call, so Android Auto integration would be a huge plus for 3CX I think. Would even be willing to pay a little something for that ability in a premium version of the softphone app.
