I'm trying to make a rule/rules where certain numbers can call to bypass the ivr but so far I'm not successful.

Inbound Rules>Add DID

in DID/DDI Name: *
DID/DDI Number/Mask:
Rule Type: I've tried both DID and CID mask
In the text box I enter my cell phones number
Routing: to my extension.

Rule applied to whole gateway

apply/OK

What am I doing wrong?

the number on this page is not the caller id, but the number called.
So, if I have a DID block of 480-368-0001 thru 480-368-0100
I can assign 480-368-0001 to be my main number to receptionist, ring group, ivr.
I can assign 480-368-0002 to goto the same - a ring group, ivr, extension, etc.

Some providers pass 10 digits, or 7 ditis, or 4 digits. I use Century Link with a PRI which sends 4 digits (at my request).
So, I look for 0001, 0002, 0003 etc.

One alternative, is to have a message fronting the IVR which reminds callers that they can dial the number of the extension that they want to be connected with - then you can just call in, then dial your extension number and by-pass the IVR that way.

I have an IVR also but for certain people who "can't"/wont remember an extension.

btw I'm using 10.0 and I attached a screen grab.

it appears as I should be allowed to specify the inbound caller as well as the DID using * or the full number.

I would look in the verbose logging to see what the inbound called id is. (the DID #).

Where you have MYDID - that is (atleast in v11) simply a name. The matching is done in the second box.

Look for this in logs. This is a NexVortex example.
Code:
15-10-2012 10:06:52.532	L:78.1[Line:10000<<+1602callerid] Sending: OnSendResp Send 180/INVITE from 0.0.0.0:0 tid=5be.5c34da52.0 [email protected]:

			Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 4.55.5.163:5060;branch=z9hG4bK04B03521f76ab74a405

			Contact: <sip:[email protected]>
			To: <sip:[email protected]:5060>;tag=4052d350
			From: "CALLER ID NAME"<sip:[email protected]:5060>;tag=gK04083036
			Call-ID: [email protected]
			CSeq: 26685 INVITE
			Content-Length: 0

I just tested a NexVortex line. Under name, put your 10 digits
Under Number put * then the 10 digits.
