Hello,

I created an external dialer in CFD using this guide.

https://www.3cx.com/docs/cfd-creating-outbound-dialer/

After installing it I learned that it no longer works for V20 by reading these locked threads:

https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/the-dialer-not-working-after-upgrading-to-version-20.124704/

https://www.3cx.com/community/threa...version-20-0-update-0-build-1620-beta.125499/

I switched the script to call the internal numbers first, but now the code doesn't sequence the list in the .txt file and it keeps calling the same number instead of the next one on the list. Is there any new documentation for how to build these dialers in CFD now that V20 will not originate a call from an external number?

The problem might be with how my incrementCallIndex is configured. The instructions in the link at the beginning of the previous post state that we "increment the CallIndex" (see below). I think I may have done this incorrectly. The documentation seems to assume that I should know how to do that.

My CFD chart matches the instructions (below), but I probably configured the incrementCallIndex wrong, because I just made a copy of the getCallIndex and renamed it. How do I fix that?

increment after the makecall, also, make sure your Origin is an internal extension and that you set the destination to whatever data it is supposed to be.

Thank you. I was able to get this resolved.

Something that you need to note here is that when you call the internal party first, and then the external number, if the internal party will play a prompt, the playback will start before the destination answers the call. As a consequence, the recipient will only hear the last part of the message, and in some cases it might completely lose the message and the call just stays in silence.

In order to avoid this, you can try SIP Caller, a cloud based outbound call dialer that seamlessly integrates with 3CX. It works as a remote extension, not as a CFD app, so it doesn't have this issue, and this way can also give you many additional features, like answering machine detection, a user friendly administration console to manage your campaigns, real time and historical reports out of the box, and much more. Let me know if you would like to give it a try.
