Gurus-

I've been in my on-prem 3CX system for a little under a year, replacing a Cisco CallManager Express. It's a simple office staff of about 10 people, we do not use the PC or phone apps at all, only the desktop phones.

The office staff is wanting to be able to hit a "call forward all" button on their phones, and forward their extension to their mobiles. I found the relevant setting in the Fanvil phone GUI, set the phone to Cfwd unconditional, entered the mobile number, but still the call rings to the desk phone and does not forward.

Any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot this?

Hi @Polar_Mike you will have to use the status profiles and configure the forwarding from there, so they will be able to use the dial codes, DND button or the configured BLF keys to change the status profile.

More info about forwarding rules here.

Thanks for this. We're using the Webapp for now, it's just cumbersome when no one is used to using it, and that's all you use it for.

Can we really not use the feature in the phone?

Having implemented VOIP phone systems for 20+ years, and 3CX for 15+ years, I can tell you from long experience that configuring forwarding rules in the phone, rather than using the presence feature in 3CX, is asking for a lot of frustration for everyone involved.

It is hard to remotely diagnose why calls are not routing where expected when users are changing the routes in the phones. My advice is to use 3CX as it was designed to work. Changing your presence status makes it clear to everyone your status and enables administrators to know where/why calls are routing elsewhere.
