Hi,
I want to setup a call forwarding to an external number in the call forwarding rules for an specific extension.
The problem is that this call should go out with an additional DTF code. In other systems this is done ab adding commas to the end of the number and then the additional digits, like 5846678524,,,3
The problem is that 3CX (i'm on V20) doesn't allow to enter commas as valid digits.
The receiving number is actually another 3CX instance that I can manage as well, so I don't know if someone can think of a workaround, either on the originating instance or the receiving instance.

To clarify even further, what I need is:
Someone on instance 1 dial an specific extension, let's say 200
Call should be forwarded always to external number xxx-xxx-xxxx
On the receiving instance this call will be answered by a Digital receptionist, so the idea is that the originating call automatically dial the extra digit and the call is forwarded to the appropriate extension on the receiving side

Thanks

I can think of a few potential options:

  1. You can add a Bridge between both systems. This would allow forwarding direct to the destination extension/RG/IVR. This may only suitable if both systems are associated with the same company.
  2. You can add or assign a DID number on the receiving system to route a call direct to the desired destination, then forward calls on the originating system to the specified DID number.
  3. You can use a dedicated phone number on the originating system to assign as the CID in an outbound rule. You can then forward to a number which will be processed through that outbound rule. On the receiving system, you can use CID routing to direct calls received from your designated phone number to terminate at the desired extension/RG/IVR.

Hello @ITGenSq ,

In short, NO this can not be done, try to create another sollution, like @positron mentioned as examples.

@positron Thank you for the answer/options
1.This could be an option, but as you mention it, even I manage both instances, are from different companies so I prefer not to do it
2. This one I think off, and could be the last resort, since is has an associated cost to get the extra DID
3. This one I like it. I have the dedicated number you mentioned, and the outbound call is coming out with that CID assigned.
What I don't see how to implement is the CID routing, without a dedicated DID. To clarify, I have only 1 DID and the incoming calls on this DID are forwarded to a digital receptionist, so here is my issue that the originated call cannot dial the extra digit to route the call through the DR to the appropriate extension.

But maybe I don't know how to do the last part of your explanation where it says:
On the receiving system, you can use CID routing to direct calls received from your designated phone number

Can you please elaborate on it?

Thanks again

Never mind !! I found it and it works like a charm!!

For others to know, the CID rule is under Advanced > CID Rule in the Admin console

Thank you!!
