A couple questions ringing of incoming calls to a Queue, and dial delay on outgoing calls.
Setup:
  • Office Hours...Assigned Incoming DID
  • Office Hours...Office Open...Route Calls to Call Queue
So this is the second installation that I set up users in a Call Queue and it has been reported that a incoming caller only hears one ring and then silence. For my previous installation, not being able to resolve it, I created a Ring Group and set up users to RG...same config as above, but in Office Hours, Office Open now set to Ring Group. In this installation I was hoping to understand it better. I

In attempting to resolve I did the following:
  • First, verified that issue did exist...I called in...heard one ring...then silence.
  • So then, from M.Console...Edit Queue...scrolled down to Music on Hold...it was set to onhold.wav.
  • I clicked Manage and performed a Playback to my extension.
  • Hi Ok to exit Queue.
  • I dialed in and it rang once, then started playing MOH music (onhold.wav)...this was different than before I hit the Manage butt.
  • Then, in the Q, I changed the MOH to USProgresstone.wav.
  • Now, after dialing I hear continuous ringing...note I can hear a different between ring 1 and ring 2...assuming the .wav file has kicked in.
So it is working now, but there seems to be some inconsistencies.
Anyone have any answers. Why so much issue when using a Queue?...again 2 separate instances having the same ring problem with a Q.

Side question...
Is there a parameter that controls the delay after dialing the a number:
  • If you 'get a line' or pickup headset or speaker before dialing number, phone will dial a couple seconds after number entry...this is too short a duration.
  • Dial number without picking up handset or speakerphone (using this process more time is available, phone actually doesn't dial, but returns to wait state)
    • Up to 15 seconds before phone will return to waiting state
    • After dialing, then pickup HS or SP, call will be dialed immediately
  • Using Yealink T57W phones.

Thanks
Lonnie

The issues with the sets would be a result of a dial timeout option, and inter-digit timeout. Creating a dialplan, on a set would also resolve these issues as the set would know how many digits to collect before sending them to 3CX. In most cases, because of the myriad of numbers that can be involved, many can't be bothered with this.

I can't be certian that any changes made to a set won't revert back when the set is re-provisioned. Some settings are, and some are not, affected by this. You might have to modify a template to make the changes permanent.
