I'm struggling to get Call Reports to give anything useful.

What I want to do is get details of how many calls there have been in the last month to a range of DIDs.

I'm attempting to get this info by using the Call Reports tab of the management console, creating a new call report and trying to specify To->number starts with to be the common root of the DID range I care about. However when I run this report it's always empty even when I know there were calls to the range.

Can the built is call reports do what I want? I guess I can always extract the CDR records and get the data from there instead, just seems like I should be able to generate the report direct from the management console.

Thanks
Will

Hello @Will Wagner

Please note that you can see the requested information by creating a Trunk / DID report. That will provide the numbers of calls for each DID. You can also use the CDR logs as you mentioned to get all the necessary information.
The To numbers in call report only displays information for outbound calls.

Where can I find definitions for each field for each type report? Something that gives me a better understanding on each call report and what each field in each report is telling me.

I'm not using the CDR feature. I just want a basic description on all the basic reports--what each field in each report is telling me...Thanks!

Other than the link I've posted, I am not aware of any other 3CX documentation on the advanced call reporting features at this time. It has been suggested several times in past forum posts to submit an idea to the idea thread for this.

Other than that, you could always run the reports and figure them out. It's a bit time consuming but it should answer your questions.

For example in the Detailed Queue Statistic Report it shows "Ring Time" and "Talk Time" with a total and a mean in each field. What is the difference between these two fields? I don't want to guess! I need to know what the numbers are telling me. Reports are nice if they can be adequately defined and explained field by field--otherwise they are useless bits of information--and no business decisions will be made based on guessing what the report means....or is trying to tell me something that makes no sense at all!

I will be happy to put together a training PPP on the advanced reporting reports--if I build it, then someone at C3X better have a look at the finished product to make sure I have correctly defined each field in each report. I am more than happy to do this! Just send me to the right person at C3X who I coordinate this with. Ok?

Ring time is how long the call sat in limbo ringing before someone picked it up.
Talk time is how long the call was in 'conversation'.

You'll get a feeling for what the differences are when you run the reports and look at data.

If you feel like documenting it for other users, I'm sure there will be a general appreciation for the efforts.

So if I do the attached will you or someone else be able to clarify it to make sure I am interpreting the information correctly?

The total ring time applies for all calls to the Queue. So for a total of 200 calls the ring time was 01:27:04.
The same applies for the second queue. The ring time was 07:36:33 for 148 calls.
