I have a user that keeps calling me externally. The CallerID on my display is correct, however the Name is not resolved.
So my display says +xxxxxxxyyy. If he calls me on a internal line it gives CallerName.

If I understand this correctly it means that CallerID is not resolved through the Extensionlist? Only using the contacts?
So to avoid this every contact has to added at least once in the Contacts and is shown double or three/four times in the 3CX-Client?

Hello @MartijnDoeland

Do you mean that the user is calling you through his mobile phone number which is set as mobile under the users extension or calling you externally from his 3CX mobile client?

No.
He is calling from his internal Telephone (Yealink T19) to my internal Telephone (Aastra 57), only he is not using my internal number but my external number.
His external number is displayed on my telephone twice (CallerID/CallerName). His callername should be his extension name.

Please note that the way the call is routed is out the PBX to your provider and back into the PBX again. This way even if the PBX is set up to send the extension name to the provider your phone will display what the provider is sending. You will need to add your DIDs to your contacts lists to see the extensions name in this scenario.

That means that every name isdisplayed 2 or more times in the client? Not to mention the additional maintenance.

If you add the DIDs to the contacts list then yes you will have 2 entries for each extension. But why are you using the external number of the extension to call someone in the same PBX? Why not use the extension number?

That's one perticular stubborn user.
Our previous PBX (Freepbx) did a lookup for the name in the DID's

Although the extensions SIP ID was not designed for this purpose you could try adding the DID of the extensions its SIP ID. You can do so by navigating to extension settings / Options. The PBX will then match the SIP ID before sending the call through the trunk.
