I've got an extension defined that has no phone. I use MYPHONE to listen to messages left at this extension's mailbox.
When I try to make an outside call from MYPHONE logged onto this extension, it says I can't since it isn't registered.

Is there a way to route the call from this (virtual) extension through a real extension? Or to make an outside call from MYPHONE through the pbx -> gateway -> pots line?

Thank you

In the "Settings -> Preferences -> Dialing" section of MyPhone you have some options:

1. You could launch 3CXPhone on the local PC to place the call. I suppose the 3CXPhone could be provisioned for any extension you wish.

2. You could trigger the call on a desk phone using a specific URL. (If your phone supports this.)

Ken -

I think we answered this in your earlier post regarding the same issue. Simply put, there is no way to make a call without having a real interface of some type - be it a softphone, an IP phone, etc.

Thanks to everyone.
