Hello everyone,

I'm using WebClient on Firefox browser (Ubuntu), and it works when performing outgoing calls. Problem is for incoming calls.
When receiving a call the client rings, then I push to answer, but the call is not answered and a modal popup with following error message appears:
Illegal audio/video payload type "2" at level 0

Tech specs:
  • Firefox: v95.0 (64 bit)
  • Ubuntu: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS
What can I do? Thanks.

Well @VasilisV_3CX , It's a company installation and I don't have all those informations.
While I ask I can tell that this does not occur in Windows using Firefox: just tried on a colleague PC on same net.
I guess we have a local installation (192.168.x.x:5001) and I connect through LAN.

Hi @Niki R.,

I've tried to reproduce this on Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS, running Firefox v95 and I'm unable to.

I'll wait for you to get back to me with regards to the information and we'll take it from there.

Thank you @VasilisV_3CX , I asked for info to masters.
Meanwhile, I am a programmer, is there any log/dump I could gather from the webpage to provide you with more info?

The only place I would look is in the Developer Option in F12 in case there are any clues.

Again though, we could not replicate it. Just a thought, could you try using a completely different headset? I mean a completely different make and model, just in case there is some error caused due to the name that is being presented (special characters in the name not escaped, etc, you're a dev, you get the point...).

I actually peeked DevTools already and performed both successful outgoing call and not-respondable incoming call, while registering "Network" traffic. I have a HAR file now (along with a txt dump of console messages) maybe it could be of some help. I'd share it with you here but I guess it's better not to publish it as there are session-IDs and tokens that suggest security concerns.
May I PM it to you somehow?

Yes I get the point of a completely different headset. I tried but the same error occurred.

I'm waiting for the response to insights request about in-use 3CX system.

Before we go down this road, may I ask you to try Chrome as well to see if you have the same issue with that?
Chrome is our 'recommended' browser, not that FF shouldn't work too of course, but at least to know where we are.

I tried on Chromium and there I can both make and respond calls regularly. Except for communication problems during incoming calls but I think that's unrelated.

Ok, at least you have a way forward, so best use that anyway.

Can you send me though the HAR file in a PM please? Just upload it to any file sharing site of your choice and send me the download link.

Sure. I'll provide it ASAP.
Exceuse me, cannot find PM function. Is that "Start conversation" feature from your profile page?

Thank you. I just sent the stuff.
