Hi all,

I've been banging my head against this for a while...

Given a system with a number of extensions, all of which appear as BLF keys on a receptionist's X6U, how does the receptionist do an assisted transfer to a specific extension by pressing the corresponding BLF key?

I've tried different combinations of keys, but whatever happens, as soon as the BLF key is involved, I get a blind transfer.

Am I missing something - surely this must be possible as it's not reasonable to expect a receptionist to remember everybody's extension numbers - especially so when their names are already on the BLFs.

Many thanks,

Nicholas.

Hi Nicholas,

The keys have a specific behavior so you can have either blind or attended, but not both.

1. Edit the extension of the X6U
2. Go to Provisioning tab
3. find "Select transfer method used (Blind or Attended) when you press a DSS key"
4. change it to Attended/Consultative Transfer
5. Press ok to save and then reprovision your phone.

Alternatively, you can assign a line key to the X6U, press it to open a new line, then press the BLF to call the other person, and then use the XFER button to transfer Call 1 to Call 2

Thank you, @JohnS_3CX. Sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees - I must have looked at that screen so many times and just not seen the option.
Tested and confirmed working.
Many thanks.
Nicholas.
