Change in the Audio File Format while Downloading

Hi,
I am downloading the Audio Recording from 3CX. However After Downloading, I am Receiving this Format
[Extension Name]_Extension Number-Calling Number_YmdHi(Call Duration)

I want: Extension Number to be on first in the Existing Format.

Is it possible to do that.

The format will always be the same:

[CallerName]_Caller_Callee_Timestamp.wav

This will not change anytime soon and I don't know why it's important to you tho.

Honestly it would make the reading of the files easier lol but can't your software be adapted for the 3CX format? Or can you have a proxy script renaming it?

Or batch rename / move to working folder using a script?

Or, if using windows, there are GUI batch rename utilities out there.

Let us not forget that you can not simply change the file name. Doing so would make the recordings unreachable by 3CX. Rather, you would first need to COPY the recordings to a new location, then change the file name of the copy. That also implies that you would have 2 copies of the same recording thus requiring double the hard disk space.

There might be good reasons for having a second copy of the recording (for archival), and you could use the 3CX retention policy to minimize the disk space requirements. But it might be much more straightforward to change your JAVA application as suggested by @Frederick Marcoux.

The original question was can we have 3CX save the original recording in a different format, and the answer is "no". Nor can you change the file name while at rest on the 3CX server. Perhaps we just interpreted the sentence "I am downloading the Audio Recording from 3CX" differently. I took it to mean using the admin portal to download audio recordings locally and you seem to have taken it to mean manipulate the recordings in situ on the server. I believed the OP was asking can we change the naming convention for the downloads of these files for which the answer is no, but there are alternative ways of getting these into a different naming format.

Yes, renaming the files on the server would break the links between the files and the 3CX database, although there would be nothing stopping someone using a script to create soft / symbolic links to them from an alternative location, which might be a more efficient method than copying them.
